satisfy the green police and violently bludgeon them to death with our fists then use the bodies as compost in the prisons peace garden...kidshuffle wrote:revert back to using a firing squad and solve all our problemsLACE wrote: either way, resources will be wasted. you think the death penalty runs cheap?
There was talk of it being reintroduced in this country not long agohutyluty wrote:Oh wow
I never actually realised people srsly supported the death penalty. Weird
There always is...and whenever you poll the public its pretty much always around 50/50. Luckily the Establishment are clever enough not to ever have a referendum. It's one of those issues where Parliamentary democracy actually does some good!southstar wrote:There was talk of it being reintroduced in this country not long agohutyluty wrote:Oh wow

We had a go yesterday, but tbh I was on rocky ground playing devil's advocate for vegetarians as a meat-eater.southstar wrote:I get the impression it's impossible to defeat noam in an arguement
I'd like to see him go up against Magma but they always seem to agree on everything..
As a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights we're forbidden from carrying out the death penalty during peacetime. It's one of the reasons we won't extradite to the US if the target is facing the death penalty. It's a shit right wing reactionary clarion call that we can't do, thankfully.magma wrote: There always is...and whenever you poll the public its pretty much always around 50/50. I believe it, but I'm not naive enough to think everyone can actually be rehabilitated. He's young, obviously his mind is filled with ideas he has learned over time which there is a chance of reversing. He won't be allowed a 'normal' life if he is ever released anyway. People have gone to prison for murdering based on race etc, and have reversed their views over time. Maybe he will convert to Islam in there. That would be far more of a 'punishment' based on his current views than just killing him lol. Execution is getting off light imo.Electric_Head wrote:You really believe this?noam wrote:they should attempt to ingratiate him in the general population and rehabilitate him.
thats what civilised societies do with criminals
any other tactic is barbarous
nah nah..let's go there, this sounds like it could be interestingparkour_nico wrote:is that it then? does noam win?
i mean i know the guy's an expert on most things, but everything? incredible
too much to even go into here, would take too long, just one query, how old is noam?
They're exactly the same. Who gets to draw the line?Today wrote: a penal system which "kills people for committing crimes?"
not the same as a penal system that kills people for senselessly merc'ing 75 other people
