Deity is one of Burials weakest tune without a doubt, obviously it's unfinished but nothing really happens, it sounds like a diluted Burial beat.
I couldn't really say my favourite, it depends what time, what emotion I want to feel etc, As far as tunes who's first impact are the greated i would say
Where Is Home remix
Fostercare
True Love v.i.p
Moth
Wounder
before I just start listing off every Burial i'll leave it at that

I would love this to include feral witch child.. But I sometimes think that was just a 35 second sample he made, and it was never actually ever gonna come out, so it just becomes one of those mystical tunes that burial used to lose thought pirate radio. Only ever imagining what it sounds like in your head.
Hope I'm wrong.
Also when people mention they're favorite burial tunes, how come unite never ever gets mentioned?
Burial doesnt have many bad songs so it's hard to choose my favorite ones.. The list could be 80% of his songs and the thing I find with burial is it depends what mood your in as to what song of his your loving most.
I'm loving untrue and shell of light right now but unite is always up there with my favorites.

yeah, most the tunes are so good its easier to say which ones you dislike.
'loner' is way, way, waaaaaay down that bottom of that list for me.
everything about the kindred ep has started to sound a bit half-baked to me.

Stolen Dog is the one. The way he manipulates those vocal samples...
that's Jamie XX's productions all over, it sounds really similar to a lot of the production on Coexist, i'd imagine a lot of the unheard XX style tunes are clips in the new BR mix were left off the album or remixes he's done.
no matter how different Burial's tunes are it's always recognisable in some way, he just has that sound

the opening strings/pads of Kindred and Loner always leave me dumfounded, i always seem to restart the tracks half way through just to hear those little glimmers of sound again. For me.
Etched Headplate
Wayfaring Stranger Rmx
South London Boroughs
Spaceape
Untrue
Gutted

A Burial / Global Communication collab would be great.

Unite is definitely one of my favourite Burial tunes, the sample combined with that heavy, warm bassline is a killer and the beat is sick. I'm a big fan of his more overtly dancier tunes like Archangel, Shutta, Loner, Versus, South London Boroughs and Street Halo, although his more ambient stuff is fantastic as well. Another one not many people talk about much is Vial with Breakage, such dark vibes combined with such a heavy bassline, I love it but it doesn't tend to get rated as highly. Each to their own though. To be honest it'd probably be easier to talk about the Burial tunes I don't like than the ones I do cos he has so few released bad ones IMO. The El-B collab he did was very disappointing, which was a shame cos El-B's another legendary producer (without whom Burial himself wouldn't be making tunes the way he does) so it could have been so much better. The Massive Attack remixes were a bit disappointing to me as well though nowhere near as much so as the El-B release. I have high hopes for this release though, 2012 has been an excellent year for Burial IMO, the Kindred EP was fantastic and Nova is probably my most listened tune this year. He's still got it. I hope!

unite and prophecy are my least favorite released burial tunes. unite is apparently one of the few that he produced with a grid, and it shows. it's missing all the rawness that made burial's music so great. it's too clean, too sterile. the el-b collab sucks for aforementioned reasons. could have been a pretty good tune if they went in a bit of a different direction, but that horribly, cheesy brutal electro-esque wobble is just unbearable
vial is a really underrated tune though, i agree.

wtf prophecy is a tune. for me it goes Fostercare, Near Dark, Homeless, Untrue and Lambeth. prayer and unite get honourable mentions. fostercare is literally perfect tho.
