They spawned a generation of copycats. Blur included.
Blur formed earlier and released their debut album years before Oasis
Blur make cheesy pop-rock though. Country House? Charming Man? Do me a favour.
its charmless man

Oasis write anthemtic, euphoric, proper rock and roll songs with swagger. .
Oasis write bland unoriginal middle of the road rock music with no edge for people who read the sun.

No band in the 90's was better than Wu-Tang Clan.

to me Hip hop group and band are different things
I personally prefer Wu tang to oasis but they're not even comparable given their far removed styles...
but then given it doesn't say rock n roll or indie rock group it isn't really that clear from the OP either...
36 chambers is certainly better than anything the gallaghers could have come up with...
Ok computer pisses over oasis as well in every way except that it's miserable
Mogwais "young team" as well??

A few of my top bands from the 90s
Queens of The Stone Age
Nirvana
Silverchair
Fugazi
Alice In Chains
Smashing Pumpkins
Also, anyone else rate Kyuss? I haven't heard much of their stuff but I'm starting to quite like them.

weren't ride pre-Oasis?- arse end of madchester?
Best band = Happy Mondays. Although Ryder had shit vocals he wrote some classic lyrics, and get bonus points for almost single handedly sinking factory with his crack and smack habit.
but to be fair in comparison to todays' drivel even the shitest bands of the early 90's smash it.
{edit} : listening to this now bringing back some very happy memories thread of the day

champagne supernova and wonderwall are shit songs that nobody cared about after they turned 15 years old. They're about as meaningful as the song "Friday" by Rebecca Black.
and Liam Gallagher is a worse singer

No mentions of Stone Temple Pilots? For shame DSF, for shame.
Also Temple of the Dog (the collab between Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam) was in the 90s and one of the best things to happen in that era.
