I beg to differ. It can be done. Sure, Letchworth wasn't much, but it wasn't soulless either.

Of course, if I hadn't bought that first place in Letchworth, I probably would've saved up enough of a deposit to have bought a place in Montpelier instead of Easton by now.

im at my moms house atm where all these letters keep getting sent... just got a new one saying
Failure to contact us to arrange repayment of this debt may lead to us recommending to student loans company that they commence legal action to recover this debt. This may include legal proceedings being commenced in the county court or sheriffs court
If a county court judgement is obtained against you in the county court, this will appear in the register of judgements, orders and fines. Alternatively if a sheriffs decree is obtained, in the sheriffs court, this will be passed to the registry trust. should this occur you may find it difficult to open a bank acount or obtain credit
could anyone answer me a some questions?

If they actually took me to court, could i just ring up and pay it off, stopping it from fuckin up my record. Or is it that once they've put the court thing in motion im already fucked?

There sending letters to my moms address, not mine. Couldn't i just say i never saw them?

& dya reckon they're just bluffing? and aren't really gonna take it this far over £220

?????

they did write
We are concerned that you continue to ignore this matter in the hope that it will disappear

It's doubtful they will take action for anything less than £500.

Just pay it man, go without drugs for a month if you need to find the money.

If they have to go to court to recover the money you'll struggle to rent a house or take out any loans for a good few years

get rid of it before the truck turns up, i'd suggest today, no time to think about it, just get rid of it, all of it.

my mum owes 3 (phone company) like 2 grand from a fuck up on their end (they registered 2 contracts in her name when she only wanted 1)

theyve been threatening her with court for like 6-7 years.

these companies usually dont bother because it costs them more to collect the debt than the value of the debt itself (unless you owe bare)

Yeh, ended up paying most off in a lump sum after the 2nd year but I did it just to annoy them, but then I got annoyed seeing the direct debit every week.
It like 260 a year but I thought I might get enough interest on a high interest savings account to cover it so I wouldnt miss it coming out by the end of each year. Was wrong.
