Re: What is the number one problem with the human race and w
its impossible to single out just one characteristic or an element of personality that makes up for all the bad stuff mankind has inflicted upon itself and nature, but i must say from the basis of my rather limited knowledge of history and politics that the hunger for power and possessions seems to be at least one recurring thing in history which induces stuff like war, inequality and exploitation of natural resources. these are difficult things too #deep for me

Go back to your world, m8. This is earth, not Mars.
Re: What is the number one problem with the human race and w
I'm talking about people that jump to conclusions and who don't think for themselves. It has nothing to do with being "deep". I'm talking about willing ignorance. It's dangerous. It's the sort of thing that perpetuates nationalism and racism for a start.wolf89 wrote:hugh wrote:Shallow thinking is the single biggest problem in the world. I hate it with a passion.
Wow you must be so #deep

Believing that which is transient to be permanent.
Because all suffering arises from that.

lol its hard :'(
I mean more how people think the future will be better for them without any decent reason. Like how people might think 'ahh i can't wait for summer it's gonna be so good' when in reality last summer and every summer before that was not as good as they imagine the next one will be so why will the next one be any better. Instead of looking to the future so much why not try and enjoy whats happening now.

Optimism is hard wired, it's why we take risks, it has been one of the driving forces of our evolution.

Yeah i'm sure it is, doesn't mean it's right though, I think the world would be a better place if instead of putting our faith in whats happening tomorrow we did something now. Much easier said than done i realise.

And has the evolution been positive for us? We should still live in tribes...Pedro Sánchez wrote:Optimism is hard wired, it's why we take risks, it has been one of the driving forces of our evolution.

Exactly, the progression from the animal state of conciousness to our state of time consciousness (as i said earlier) has been the worst thing to happen to the human race.

People in nearly every tribe are happier than in cities, there is no suicide and no mental disorders (this is an amazing fact taking into account that they have the 85% of more free time than us) no tabus, they dont get alienated with their jobs and they keep in contact with natureLaszlo wrote:Why?
