170 doesn't have to be strictly dnb
there's plenty of hip hop and i guess some dancehall n stuff around that tempo

In the Netherlands, DNB is bigger than all of those. Only big room is bigger.esfandyar wrote:y u no make a mix?Liam92 wrote:Yeah, I really like dnb, looking forward to hearing these mixesGenevieve wrote:Did anyone do a single genre mix? Dnb is still something the kids listen to, but DSF isn't the right forum for that. There's dnb fans on here, but most people will naturally be more attracted to slower stuff.esfandyar wrote:i guess i correlate my age with my love for dnb, i was raving to it during its golden years. most often, when i talk to a younger group of electronic music fans in general, they tell me similar things like what you guys were mentioning, genres of music that are no faster than 140. if im not mistaken, a lot of people who post on here are pretty young, if i remember. minus nowaysj. he old. lol.m8son wrote:haha what's that got to do with anything?
and gene's right, loads of youngins still rocking dnb.. i just dont meet those heads too often these days. most of the kids i talk electronic music to, listen to the bro, the fist pump, or the trap. might be phoenix though.

Quick suggestion, after this one give it a bit of a break? maybe less people are doing them because they've been really frequent and close together?

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.
Re: Ninja DJ Minimix #6 - 170
I was going to suggest a summer break, great idea
Re: Ninja DJ Minimix #6 - 170
Too bad, I thought people were just doing exams atm and it would pick up again by the next competition.
We should all agree that hardcore is pounding distorted kicks and that 'rave' is proto-jungle/breakbeat stuff.

Yeah, personally I've been pretty busy with exams. Hoped to have been able to record a mix last weekend but things didn't really pan out.
I can make a mix tonight if it's not too late for this competition, otherwise I'll just join in on the next one.
