Surely everyone who is in the scene is pushing the sound?
Don't know about you but all my friends know what dubstep is, even if they don't like it, all their mates do too?
I mean, I tell everyone "go X place, see X DJ, listen to X tune, it'll change your life"

The wider the audience the more producers/listeners/lovers will come and it will just turn into this massive cultural bliss, well thats the hope
Word of mouth is better than any other form of advertising, its personal and direct!

he's pioneering a certain direction for dubstep, that's for sure. Personally I don't like his stuff that much apart from the first dub police ep, the acton dread ep, and cockney thug/love is real. making moves in a big way though

i just think the sounds rusko uses definitly push the scene forward. his bass sounds on tracks like 2 n a q are filth, and soooo good.

that's not really pushing the sound forward though which is what the thread is asking, trying out new things and pushing in new directions, which is what many of the producers whom you see repeatedly in this thread (Martyn, TRG, 2562, Blim, Peverelist, HH etc.) are doing.
Still, 2 very good producers and looking forward to hearing what Cotti has up his sleeves.
I think all those above are doing an interesting thing with the techno and 2step directions they are taking with the sound. Anti-social and Mala for the distinct house influenced sound. Skream always- he seems to get enough flak about being generic from people (understandable as he still makes the big Bangers which go off ala simple city) but if you listen to his newer material, the different sounds and directions he is taking are a far cry from his other work and show how he has evolved as a producer. The wonk factor as well with Ikonika, rustie etc.- interesting fresh direction
