I only read the first page but as a few people said I think it's all about the British accent for Grime. I have heard a few sick American MCs over Grime though so it can work, as long as the DJ and MC are tight. I think certain people miss that connection in the studio.

not to start any more beef but I really think that the massive popularity of commercial rap has really skewed almost everyone's perception of what the music actually is (or was)...

so i wouldn't mind at all if americans started using grime as a way of getting back to what made mc and dj culture so sick to begin with

haha!...coz that's how it happens homeboy. you can't fly out to london for every DMZ so you start your own scene but then you have to tailor it to suit the tastes of the crowd in your town. then if it starts blowing up you start making tunes for your town and then there you go...its a new sound.

werd.. thanx for the positive input, Im working on some bars now. I got a good one Im going to do just to introduce myself a bit by spittin on a well known grime instrumental. I have a bunch of beats ive been working on as well with diff topics mostyl ranging to rising poverty all across the globe, and kids destroying neighborhoods and whatnot.

hip hop and electronic music have always fed off and inspired each other, and both are better for it you're def right about coming up with your own sound

Like when all the Detroit originators hated what the UK was doing with acid / rave styles - should've been shut down there and then and we wouldn't have had any of this 'drums and bass' or 'dub step' fucking things up.
