theres a few hardcore fan's running around hier got 1 producer(and he's fliping good to,.. but there's no party's, radio's rather spin grime then dubstep.. & the grime Dj's only spin 1 or 2 dub's at raves
Well we're gonna change that, too bad u didn't mention any names or a lil' more details, cos theres more happenin' than u kno

the actual real platforms in holland are; a rave callled OI and an online radioshow that goes by the same name on 3voor12 both hosted by Gomes, who goes by the name Gman nowadays ( Gman ep out now on .. shit forgot the labels name, anyone?) grime orientated, then theres Streamers Radio which playes all of the underground sounds from dnb to grime to dubstep and we have a forum www.wick-it.com.

There were a few grime raves with a lil' dubstep, last rave combined with dnb which had more dubstep that merked it big time and we also did an mc talent of the year 'event' on Streamers to stimulate uk underground music, hell we even got sponsored by Li Ning and a few smaller companies for this.

BTW I've just registered www.dubstep.nl cos it's definately gonna blow ere! this is the land of 'smoke-a-joint-in-front-of-a-police-officer-and-ask im-where-central-station-is' for cryin out loud!

also we are looking for people who are willing to help start a solid rave, sure u (talented) international dj's want to and in the future will help us out, but we need to get things started first... so if u live in holland or mayyyybe belgium and want to do something with holland, contact us at streamersradio@gmail.com or add us on msn; streamersradio@hotmail.com

i mean be real has there ever been a show in holland that only spun dubstep,.. on a munthly basis??? (that's wat i was talking about) :D

all the rave's i've been 2 had 90% grime, 10% dubstep,..
I call that more a grime scene than a dubstep scene,.. am i right??

no hard feeling's but that's the way i see it

Small dubstep scene here in Paris. Just a few DJs play dubstep tunes like Cycle, Hybu, Mr Casual and myself. Oris Jay, J Da Flex, Zed Bias, Landslide, SLT Mob, Plasticman and Mark One have already played in our RPM parties...
We promote this sound alongside broken beat and dnb in our events and website.

there's also some other Parties in Nantes (Kode 9 played in Nantes for the LA represent crew) or in Lille (stamina shop crew with Mark One)

RPM parties are massive

and to finish, there's a small but growing producer scene lead by resofantom crew: http://www.resofantom.net/v2
check the resofantom compilation & absurd album

I think the scene in belgium is still small because this is still a new genre that only a few play and the records are hard to find, or u have to order via the net.
We had some guys who came over DMZ Mark One Plasticman and crew at Le gazon Brussels (Free massive party), Roll Deep in Ghent (14 people ) Dizzy in Brussels (Sold out),Vexd in ghent (80 people).
Me and some other guys have a weekly radioshow, "After 12" ,every friday from 00h till 02h on http://www.urgent.fm
We play all kinds of uk music lots of grime and dubstep ,hip hop ,jungle...so we try to promote it.

I think - czech Republic is on the big shadow of nothing!!!In Prague there are some dj´s, but they play only for couple of superfans. Last time is a better situation, because many people listen this music on the net and do their own sets.there is only one radio in Prague where these sets can play. For Osiris and Sidious - see ya in tilburg dubsters.

BANG! Hey kids. Another forum huh?

TORMENT, based outta Calgary, AB, Canada @ the moment. Figured i'd be the first to post from Calgary.. if there's nobody on here remotely from the praries in this barren land called Canaduh.

Um... "dubstep" in MY country.

You can hear dubstep in Calgary believe it or not, even in a couple local clubnights here. Dubstep kinda goes under the radar for alot of peeps, you'd never get a purist crowd here, or atleast a more "pretentious" dubstep audience, if ya get me. Which is good. Pretention is dumb. But like most places, you can hear it mixed in with breaks, dnb, and breakcore, if i'm spinnin.

I've personally been rockin the stuff for awhile over the years, airing the early sounds on westcoast radio in Vancouver, BC not too long ago, and since living in Calgary, @ my own promotions, and whatever gigs i get. I play out harder dubstep sounds, leaning more to breakcore stuff like Math Head, Ruff Records, DTL, and the like. Dubstep shouldn't be percieved as "boring" music. I like it LOUD. And pitched up too.

Local Dj's in Calgary seriously rockin dubstep include the Resonance Productions boys, Kaspr & Cubed who do a weekly Wednesday clubnite intown called Audio Assault. And good friend in riddim Dj Zajko, who does a local radioshow @ CjSW, amongst other gigs. Great guys, who know their shit.

I just rocked Audio Assault Sept27, droppin the goods, as mentioned.

Dubstep in Calgary?

Who knew.

Tokyo's had a few Grime artists over the past 2 years (Wiley, Slimzee, I think Plasticman) but as far as dubstep there is one monthly that started in sept called back to chill with Goth Trad Producing and pushing the sound, as well as DJ's Kaji Peace, SKE and HyakuMado.
We've been running back to chill is the basement of a big club that has a nice system and each month so far getting about 60 ish peeps thru the door on a thursday night.

As for records shops- theres bugger all selling dubstep, maybe 6 titles to a shop that I've seen (including Grime I suppose :) )

there are a couple of broken beat djs that will throw a dubstep tune or two into their sets, but there are no nights or many people that really even know about the sound.
Hopefully that will change soon as I am starting a dubstep night at the same club where I hold my long running DnB residency.

Time to educate.
damn its almost a year later, and the scene has grown much larger than just grommit.

his monthly is goin strong still, we play lots of dubstep at the dnb weekly, and there's plenty of dubstep going down at the broken beat weekly now too.

handful of strong dubstep producers in town including innerlign and tyrant (pressing issues AA), skint, jiant (lemiwinks mastermind), and myself pumpin out bass weight daily like

lots more heads converting all the time

i wonder what it will be like in one more year

Considering that I live in south London, where it all comes from, it's a little odd that none of my local record shops sell dubstep. But they don't seem to be able to shift much grime either, so maybe that's why. I have one of the best reggae shops in town only 5 minutes walk away, though.

Other than that, it's the place to be! lol

I don't get all this "boring dubstep" stuff, either.

What used to REALLY annoy me back in the day was all thse glowstick trance/hard house people telling me that garage can't be "uplifting" like trance is, and it was all about "dark/badboy" sounds and violence. Obviously they hadn't heard tracks like "Sincere" and "Celebrate Life", and oddly enough, I've seen more violence at techno squat parties than I ever did at any garage rave!

I think most of the people who say it prefer faster, harder music... like hard house or something. Personally I think that a night of identical beats at 150-160 bpm, where you know exactly where the next drop/breakdown is going to come in, same old drum rolls with the same old synth stabs is boring.

But that's obviously just me! lol :)
