hehe, love it when a producer gets that plug in or synth or bit of equipment that allows them to emulate a classic sound like that...I know when I get my hands on a talkbox one day I'm basically going to do EVERYTHING through it.

Everything. Go to the shops and ask for king size rizla via the talkbox. Woo a woman using it. Etc.

Damn. I feel really violated that it's being released on Mad Decent. And for those of you who aren't very familiar with the Mad Decent imprint, It's Diplo's mastermind of reggae/dancehall/jungle and latin/tribal, percussive heavy influence meets electro aesthetic and boasts artists such as Dip himself (Philly based) , L-Vis 1990, Drop The Lime, collabs such as MIA, Buraka Som Sistema, and the most-known Switch collab, birthing Major Lazer.
Mad Decent is not a very underground label compared to one as Sub Soldiers or Dub Police, where I was hoping Rusko's album would've been release on and apparently, he's not concerned for the purity of the genre, thus driving the eventual mainstream attention of it and Rusko =[.

Which may result in a douchey future Rusko... but

Mad Decent though?

I think thats a very unfair approach to take, why should 'the purity of the genre' (whatever that means?) be a responsibility for rusko to carry on his shoulders?

this. if it only takes one person to ruin a genre, then it can't have been very strong to begin with. and why shouldn't rusko do what suits him best? why should he tailor his career to the views of people who just want dubstep to be only for the hipster cool kids or whatever?

Apparently, Da Cali Anthem is NOT going to be on the album seeing as it has just been released for free.

Cue the mass rinsing.

I agree with all of this many times over. I'm probably the biggest Mad Decent detractor on the face of the earth and Diplo's one of the few musicians out there whose whole world view is so antithetical to mine that I'd probably deck him in the face on the spot...

...but the Rusko tunes haven't sounded that bad so far. I'm never putting money in their pockets, but I'll check it out. Even a broken clock is right twice a day (in this case: Rusko and JD Medhi).
