cool! i'm thinking of doing that eventually, and i'm going on my first trip to lisboa this summer! Any recommendations to see?!
how long will you be staying? there shit loads i can recommend you...
Only 5/6 days at the start of September - he's foing for the bi-annual meeting of the European Sociological Association, so don't bother recommending that! Haha. We've sorted an apartment in Alfama (sp?) in the old part of the city, I think, something to do with Baixa? Near Baixa perhaps...

Mosteiro dos Jerónimos , Belem - monastery made out of marble. beautiful.
Also there's a really good modern art gallery next to it called Berardo which is free. It has a cultural centre as well which has nights, one of which skream played at.
http://www.museuberardo.com/
Castelo de São Jorge - cracking view, very near to alfama where you're staying (in reality everything's pretty close). great view.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_of_S%C3%A3o_Jorge
The Gulbenkian Museum in Praça de Espanha is worth it if you like Arabic Art and it has a cool garden.
http://www.gulbenkian.pt/index.php?langId=2
The Zoo in Sete Rios is top. The Oceanarium in Oriente is also worth a visit.
Nightlife - Bairro Alto is an old neighbourhood with lots of bars and shops where you can happily roll around with people on road.
Crew Hassan is a nice little cultural centre - drinks, djs, live music, old skool video games, good food
http://www.crewhassan.org/
Lux is a pretty glammed out club part owned by John Malkovich - beautiful people.
Opart is in Docas - good techno/minimal things.
There's stuff happening at LX Factory in Alcantara which is a big warehouse. There have been some dnb/dubstep/other nights there.
kozee in santos on fridays = a small dubstep night. nice little place.
I can give you more infos as and when you need. hit me up.
ALso Conspira, who's a moderator, is a Lisboeta so he'll know more than me!
Hope that's of some use.

Asbolute don, legend, emperor.
I was gonna ask you anyway so I've filed that under your name in the text file I'd made

I also have "Tranquera"'s name, but that is actually supposed to say Conspira, as you say.
Know anything about Buraka Som Sistema type, 'modern kuduro' (?) stuff that goes down anywhere?
Appreciate that so much!

I work on a Goverment funded project designed to help Londons small to medium sized businesses bid for, and hopefully win, public sector contracts for things such as the 2012 olympics...which would explain why I spend most of my day on here then...

I have just voted for my union on industrial action short of strike!
Ooo, what were the choices? Industrial action, industrial action [short of strike] or reject or just action or reject?
What's the union? You're not in the RMT are you?

Yo Hebz what's the score with coffeeshops in Belgium?
What's the score with Belgium generally? I heard there was some problems because half the country is Dutch and the other half are French and they don't want to be in the same country or someshit.

I'm not hebz but anyway, no coffeshops here. But Holland is not a long drive and you are legally allowed to have 3 grams as long as you don't smoke with kids.
But the most weed smokers are kids.
And yeah, ever since the 18th or the 19th century the flemish people hate the french (and backwards), and currently, it's escalating some more and more. Many people think an end will come to Belgium sometime.
