Only 5/6 days at the start of September - he's foing for the bi-annual meeting of the European Sociological Association, so don't bother recommending that! Haha. We've sorted an apartment in Alfama (sp?) in the old part of the city, I think, something to do with Baixa? Near Baixa perhaps...

The Gulbenkian Museum in Praça de Espanha is worth it if you like Arabic Art and it has a cool garden.

Nightlife - Bairro Alto is an old neighbourhood with lots of bars and shops where you can happily roll around with people on road.

Crew Hassan is a nice little cultural centre - drinks, djs, live music, old skool video games, good food

Lux is a pretty glammed out club part owned by John Malkovich - beautiful people.

Opart is in Docas - good techno/minimal things.

There's stuff happening at LX Factory in Alcantara which is a big warehouse. There have been some dnb/dubstep/other nights there.

kozee in santos on fridays = a small dubstep night. nice little place.

What's the score with Belgium generally? I heard there was some problems because half the country is Dutch and the other half are French and they don't want to be in the same country or someshit.

I'm not hebz but anyway, no coffeshops here. But Holland is not a long drive and you are legally allowed to have 3 grams as long as you don't smoke with kids.
But the most weed smokers are kids.

And yeah, ever since the 18th or the 19th century the flemish people hate the french (and backwards), and currently, it's escalating some more and more. Many people think an end will come to Belgium sometime.
