this definitely didn't come through any of the usual distribution channels for dubstep. Nor did it come from Universal. HTFR have always been shady. :|

Ahhhhh

What kind of recourse is there then? If this is found to be shady, wouldn't that put...someone in a real bad situation? Dam well should.

I feel terrible now, I played this tune to the guy I live with the other day (hes just gotten himself turntables/started collecting vinyl) and he told me to buy 2 copies for him if I ever see it in any shops. Picked these up for him without thinking about it, and feel terrible now if im going to give him some dodgy knock off poor sounding copies :(

tbh i have no idea what the copies from HTFR sound like - I don't know who pressed them, or from what source.

what I said above, about them being dodgy, was just a general statement.

Nah yeah fair, dont want to go landing you in some kind of slander based problems

I spose, in all fairness he is very much just a bedroom DJ. Literally only started buying vinyl a few weeks ago, and as we got exams at the moment he hasn't really spent much time on the ole turntables (plenty of playing about on mine, but ya know :P). Im guessing he's not really going to be noticing a massive difference of sound quality (whatever that may be) on his active numark centre speaker things, and if he does stick to the whole DJing ting and play out on bigger systems at any point, I reckon he'll be bored of the tune by then anyway :P

Ha! I got to make myself feel better AND have a go at a popular tune in one paragraph. I win a ninja something or other...

I'm sure most people will jump on the £8.99 as they'll probably be immediately putting them on ebay!

Which begs the next question.............do these bootlegs look exactley like the original white labels??? If so I'm sure people on ebay are going to find themselves forking out around £50-60 for these very shortly.

Ohh so tempted... but i'm sure that ASBO1 has more longevity than this tune! Big up skream though La Roux remix is top!

I think we should all boycott both Juno and HTFR - they're making a quick buck whilst Skream is not seeing a penny out of this.
Not to mention La Roux themselves.

Someone need to get to the bottom of this. I'm surprised at Juno too. And they may have raised the price by a quid but I would have thought if they were doing just for money they would have sold it for a bit more, because they could of. Am writing an angry email to them now.

Well that's the first look at these infamous bootlegs. I'll be keeping an eye on that listing to see if people fall for it and pay big bucks!

Sadly, the truth is that Trading Standards are a toothless quango too sacred to do anything other than close down fast food outlets that pose a risk to 'public health and safety' if you want something done about a dodgy record retailer, fuckin' forget it!

The best thing to do would be to petition Polydor with a few hundred signatures and alert the record retail sector in general, organisations like the BPI and so on.

How about writing to DJ mag or Mixmag, NME and so on telling them. HTFR advertise in a lot of these, would be nice to let them know the score even if they didn't do anything about it.

Bottom line is, HTFR 'MAY' allegedly be selling dodgy re presses, the hard thing is, actually proving that statement. Or in instigating some kind of investigation into the company.

For my money, I've heard of people who got burnt through HTFR, so i aint gonna touch 'em with the shitty end of a fairly long stick!

Serious?.... you're proper scum eh. ?
The proper thing would be to cancel order(if possble still), stop useing HTFR... and if a dj NOT play out this vinyl. .....
Even if it were legit,, to buy it, just to sell it at some ridiculious price when it becomes literally impossible to purchase..you're buying an artists music so you can make a profit. What gives you any right to make a finacial gain on some other artists music. WTF....im actually really upset to read that this type of thing actually exist & casually expressed..as you have,

I think he/she was just joking. Then again maybe not who knows?

I'm sure 90% of those dodgey 12"s snapped up from HTFR were bought with the intention of selling on ebay due to the massive prices they're going for. Sadly that is always going to happen with a promo like this. All you can hope for is that they pour their ill gotten gains into other records which they don't sell.

By the way..................that dodgey 12" on ebay has just got it's first bid with 5 days to go!
