particularly the one at 1:01
then at 1:30 - can that even be made using a synth - or is it a sample of a lion/fuck off dinosaur ???
that sure does sound like a jurassic park sample

the question you should be asking is

how did the jurassic park guy make that sound? tuned down lion roars?

How do I make that 'underwatery' kind of pad sound?

Great example here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeB8CMD3RgA

Starts around 4:23.

I've had a go but everytime I try it ends up sounding just muffled and unclear. I'm guessing beautiful hardware may be involved :(

I'm more interested in the effects, rather than how to make the initial pads.

this is one of my favorite sounds and sadly i dont know waht its called or how to make it. im talking about the real resonant (squelchy, even), light, and airy synth. sounds like a whistle mixed with a harp. and the rolling harp synth sound that compliments it is cool too. maybe it has been through an arpeggiator, maybe its the same sound. thoughts?

hmmm could do something similar with an organ or rhodes and heavy on the reverb
try messing with some vintage keyboard sounds till you find something close

Rate that tune! "Give yourself to the dark side"
Yeah those stabs are a sample you can do something similar in a synth using a major chord with 3 oscillators tune 0, +7 and +12 then try different waveforms out. Also have the amp envelope doing the classic stab thingy with the attack at 0, decay to taste, sustain 0 and release around the same setting as the decay or a little lower hopefully that makes sense :6:

Super great thread!!!

Here's my question....I know that Bar9 uses Massive for his basslines, but I can't figure out how the hell does he make that wobble in the tune "Midnight"....I'm not trying to sound like him, just curious on how it is made...thanks in advance!

Peace

Thank you very much for your reply, I'ma give it a shot.

I'm reminded... anyone know how to get this classic jungle sound?

Sounds like automating the cut-off of a low-pass filter and square waves, but I'm probably wrong.. can't get the sound.

Click click around 0:42.

Ugh.. such a bad example of what I mean, though. Why don't they have '25 Years For Murder' by Cardopusher on youtube? Bah. Many jungle tunes have it but I have trouble remembering which.

Yes! There's no indication of time, but the prominent synth sound that starts when the actual verse starts Anyone help?
