I don't like arrogance, especially in music, makes the scene look moody and elitist. Don't do it.
But do you not find it wierd that they don't go seek new music out? Instead of relying on charts and radio 1?

Every few days something new is "ruining" dubstep.

Which I guess means, at this point, making/listening to dubstep is like flogging a dead horse.

I think some people arn't bothered about what they like, they just like music. They're not worried about being looked down on cause there taste isn't as varied, there happy being told whats good and what isn't. I think we're the fussy ones, having to seek out underground music to be satisfied.

Oh yeah definately, i'd much rather talk to the guys on here than the people who love Radio 1's Chart Show. I think there either happy being uninteresting, or just none the wiser.

Doorly is an electro dude, he plays in Hudds alot. I just think he's applying what he knows about electro to dubstep ... I don't think its right that people should say that its shit just because he doesn't quite understand it yet or that its a bit different.

Granted, some of his tunes are crap, but then again Skream has done crap tunes, Benga has done crap tunes, Caspa has done crap tunes ... you see where I'm going.

I can't help but think that perhaps a bit of support for this dude instead of hating would maybe mean he gets his tune a bit more in sync with the scene.

Just a thought ...

I have never heard of this guy before. I can't fucking keep up anymore. Seems like yesterday dubstep had about 2/3 releases a week. Everything that is happening right now reminds me so much DNB and this site is quickly becoming the half step remix of www.dogsonacid.com. Being someone that has been supporting dubstep for years I would rather see someone that has put in the time with the music be the next big thing at the same time I won't slate someone for making a big tune that goes off in the dance whether it is to my taste or not. Most if these Johnny come lately's will dip out as quick as they came in. It is what it is.

this thread is ridiculous. all of you 'dubstep purists' are being whinging lil bitches

isn't the concept of dance music TO MAKE PEOPLE DANCE? I think Doorly is doing a pretty ok job of that. So are folks like Nero, Chase and Status, Rusko, Caspa and a whole fuckload of others.

If you don't like the music they're making/playing, then don't fucking support them. It's as simple as that.

You lot are seriously a bunch of fucking crybabies because something doesn't 'vibe' with you about his music. I'd much rather see a crowd going ballistic to some off the wall obnoxious tunes than watching a whole crowd of people just nodding their heads to some sub bass.

And pissing and crying that it attracts the 'wrong' people is bullshit. You're starting to sound like the og elitist junglist pricks who thought they were 'too cool' for the general mainstream and slated folks like Pendulum who achieved a high level of commercial success because they played more accessible music.

If you really wanna talk shit on people 'jumping on the next trend' you should probably point fingers are a FUCKLOAD of producers on this forum who used to produce dnb. Sometimes there's more creative outlet in different genres than what you're originally known for. Look at Spor with his Feed Me (house) project.. the tunes he's producing are fucking LIGHT YEARS ahead of what most of these indie dance producers are making and I could listen to em all day. Cats like Trillbass, Symbl, Ultrablack, Bro Safari (Knick from Evol Intent), Nero, Chase and Status, and a whole lot more are making some absolutely face melting music right now... but they're all sellouts cuz they jumped on the dubstep bandwagon right?

Get your fucking panties out of a bunch and learn how to relax and have some fun. All this shit is not so serious and nothing is RUINING DUBSTEP right now. The inclusion of other scenes, sounds, and styles of music is doing more to push this sound forward than just leaving everything with a sub bass and a snare.

Surely the only thing that could 'ruin' dubstep would be a small minority of people dictating what it should/should not be for the rest of the world.

But I like Rusko tunes as well as Mala tunes, so I guess I'm ruining dubstep. Sorry about that.
