It's too good, played it for hours on end, not really done much quest action yet, just having a gander, the worlds huge.

Never played oblivion or anything couldnt get into it, but this is next level.

On first impressions, I'd actually rate Oblivion higher than Fallout 3. There's something more satisfying with clumping a shopkeeper upside the head with a mace than shotting a mutant with a gun.

The game is still pretty good, though. Sometimes they seem a bit lazy in terms of design and animation, I've noticed a few things imported directly from Oblivion which annoys me slightly. Granted, the game is still massive, and I appreciate the hours of gameplay offered. I'll be very surprised if I finish the main quest in the game - I haven't done in oblivion, and I've racked up 170 hours on that sucka'!

The dialogue in Fallout 3 is poor - the dialogue in Oblivion pisses all over it
The Action in Fallout is better tho
the addictions add a nice twist to the gameplay
+ you dont have the alchemy annoyance to worry about.
interesting game.. its growing on me the more i play it

Finally decided to buy a 360 last week. A week later, im on my 3rd 360.

I love the way the 360 looks and performs when its not crashing or shows the ring of death.

Guess i just had bad luck with these consoles.

My PC i use to play games on never once failed on me or glitched out.

PC stands supreme in my book.

the last time I had the rings of death, I took it straight back to argos and refused to move until they gave me a new one! 10 mins at the counter of talking at rapidly increasing dB levels about their poor customer service did the job nicely...they were glad to see the back of me :-)

anyway... COD world at war... bring it on!!!!

Trust me.

Find the sledge hammer its much better than anything on oblivion trust!

Plus using the direct aim thing (its just the V on PC version dunno its technical name) at raiders heads with the combat shotgun.... gosh brings tears to me eyes on high (can't handle ultra :( ) 4X AA.. it just looks lush, the bits of flesh have HDR on them if you're outside in the sun , so jokes.

Personally I think it shits all over oblivion. 2 things what're better in oblivion though...

Horses (or just any form of transport other than your legs)
growing stats on the go. Its all about getting sick jump & slowly growing more and more power as the game goes on, like running faster and stuff.

Although the perc system is quite nice.

WTF is up with the amount you can carry though? Find myself teleporting back to Megaton to dump off stuff far to often.

That 'V' on the keyboard thing is called VATS, and yes, it's ace! The head pop shots are definitely the most satisfying.

I've just bought Gears 2. So between that and Fallout 3, it's another rapidly passing weekend for me.

Bumping this to talk about Dead Space.

Holy shit, this game is scary. Picked it up a couple of days ago just to see what it was like, and now I'm hooked. It's basically like playing a computer game version of Alien. Wandering through dark, blood stained corridors in a massive abandoned spaceship, with nasties waiting around most corners. Play this on your own with the lights off and you'll definitely need a change of pants.

Anyone else played this?

I'd whole heartedley recommend it, it's a very good game. I do have fears that it might be quite short though. I'm about 7 hours into it, and the story does seem to be getting towards the latter stages...

That said, it's a very high quality game. Visually it's very impressive (esp. on a 50" TV :D ), and the sound is very good too, really adds to the mood of the game/specific sections.

There's very little in the way of ideas that is 100% original in the game, but I think that the elements that have been borrowed have been tweaked and refined and work very well.

Also, there's no HUD - All the usual stuff like health and ammo are displayed on the character (he's got a line on the back of his suit that represents health, ammo counts are displayed on the gun), and any objectives and maps that you look at are set up as holograms that your character projects. It all adds to the immersion, and therefore to the scares too!

@ Legendary - You big girls blouse lol
