Still love both of these. This is one remake that I am quite intrigued by as well actually.
Even the third one with Tina Turner isnt as bad as people claim
Yes, yes it is.
TWO MEN ENTER ONE MAN LEAVES
It was decent till he is sent out into the desert.

The kids were annoying and the bit where they fly into the ruins of Sydney was ridiculous but it was no Waterworld

Waking Life: I love 'a scanner darkly' but this didn't do it for me at all, I like the look of it but the dialogue felt a lot like being forced to sit and listen to annoying philosophy students trying to out-do each other in a coffee shop (or in SNH).

Waterworld is incredibly dumb but it's still kinda fun, same as Beyond Thunderdome.

You can't compare a scanner darkly and waking life man.
2 different films.

Which is why I say you can't compare them.
One is a sci-fi while the other is a philosophical dream.

Yeah, they are very similar in plenty of ways though (director and visual style and some themes), one I really like and one I really didn't.
(sorry- edited that last post, I keep loggin in to different accounts by mistake)

I thought both were excellent.
I sample a waking life heavily as well.

Decided to start with Parks & Recreation, as I've been re-watching It's Always Sunny anyway.
Pilot got me hooked immediately, my kind of humour. Didn't know it was pretty much the same as the Office.
Not a bad thing at all.

I didn't know the storyline so that kept me engaged & there were a couple of songs made dramatic by being sung live (plus too many that were utterly tuneless). The barricades were too obviously on a stage set but there was some pretty good grot & slime.

Decided to start with Party Down. Has anyone seen it?
I´m a big fan of The Office & Parks and Recreation, but both current seasons are a bit shit.
Nevertheless Parks & rec has some of the best characters on TV:
back 2 movies: I´m gonna watch Django tomorrow

Proper harrowing and depressing film, really hard to sit through the last half hour.
Good, but definitely one that you watch once and never again.

I was actually embarrassed to be watching it so i quit after 20 minute. The dialogue was cringeworthy.
