I'd argue that perhaps, as with life, it's not the destination but the journey that is of value.

Yeah, I guess most action films are probably not for me.

I mean, there's nothing actually wrong with them, I just can never understand the praise that gets heaped on them, a lot of 5 star reviews for Skyfall (I haven't seen Skyfall, so I could be wrong, but I assume the plot is very similar to what I have mentioned?)

Skyfall is a very different Bond film imo. It's a good film in it's own right regardless of the franchise. Still has some of the hallmarks of a Bond film but it reflects the state of the times in the early 2010's UK. It's not as showy, not as flashy as previous Bonds - Bond in austere times. Yes the overall plot is very similar to what has come before but it's how that plot unfolds that impressed me.

Full disclosure - i'm not a massive Bond fan. Most of my love for the films are nostalgia based. I don't have one Bond film on dvd although I did used to have Golden Eye on vhs.

i have a pretty shit attention span though, if i know how its gonna turn out i normally get bored of watching the middle just for the sake of it

I'm not a massive action film fan, but every so often I get a hankering to watch a silly film, I watched Total Recall the other day on the TV. That's pretty silly.

Crank films as well, they're so tongue in cheek you can't dislike them.

Red was on last night, I only watched half of it but it seemed very tongue in cheek.

I was going to watch that but it had been on for an hour by the time I remembered. Recorded Kill List as that was on too, anyone seen it? Thoughts?

It's a weird film. Either genius or shite depending on who you talk to. Definitely worth watching but it is weird.

It might have been censored a bit for TV viewing, it's a bit unsettling at times IMO
