Think the show got a bit of stick for Leslie Knope just being a bit of a generic stupid character, compare her in the later series to what she was like in the first series, pretty big difference, and it made the difference for the show imo.

well parks and rec was supposed to be a spin off of the office (since it was supposed to go off air a couple seasons ago), so she was like the woman equivalent to michael scott. it was very hit or miss for the first couple episodes lol
