mashmash wrote:@jimbeaux yea, interesting sounds. i think it needs some sort of progression, i'm not sure, it just plods along in stages. you could work on your sub bass as well, it doesn't do that much. give it some rhythm and variation, but yea it sounds interesting :)

thanks for the feedback mashmash!

and lordbid, your sacrifice track is f-n dope man! keep it up yo!

Theres alot of inspiring stuff going on in this thread, can't wait to hear alot of these wips when they're finished. :E:

@Grime Syndicate - You got some nice clean sounds in there... one thing i noticed is your snare has the snap but im not feeling the hit imo... something i do that you may wanna try is layering a kick with your snare with a lower velocitie or if your using a sampled kick just layer the kick with the snare but make the kick volume lower.

@shaneynclan - nice work - cant wait to hear the finished track

@edn - its all sounding clean to the ear just the levels need abit of a tweak imo... near the end the piano part @ 3.13 onwards seems abit to strong to me crank that down a few db and i rekon it will blend in alot better.

Im just trying to see what i can do with the awesome Katy B - Katy on a mission song... let me know what you think of my remix so far...

@sniperDUbb decent effort man, the vocal repetition at about 43 seconds doesnt sound right though

Rainbo, your track Eater of Worlds sounds insane! i really love the bass but i think you need to make the drums a little more eminant, you can barely hear them. other than that, i think you have an awesome track!

Rhek, i liked the overall feel of the track but feel the bass is missing something. i cant quite put my finger on it though. maybe some EQing to give a little more presence. it could be the fact that im listening to it on ipod headphones though :P

Shaneynclan, absolutely loved it! i like the arp'd synth in the intro a lot. the bass seems a tad too harsh. not too sure what to do to it but either way it sounds good :)

Ill ReUp this one

@ weedcali: Damn, digging those melodies in the intro. Very original approach. Sweeet track man. Maybe a tad too much
filtered noise on the drop. Drums are subtle but very smooth, they work very well with the bass.
Sounds finished to me already mate, excellent work!

@ sniperDUBB: Not really feeling your tune man. Beat is way too basic and lacks reverb.The high freqs of the bass are too prominent,
makes the tune tune tiresome to listen to. I liked the last 15 seconds the most when it was just beat + sub,
maybe you should look into that.

@ yoitsfrankd: Decent effort for a first dubstep tune. Not really into the trancesteppy vibe, but the
melodies work. Try to work on the overall mix and levels. Good job.

My wip, would love some feedback :D

@ yoitsfrankd: Never really heard trance style dubstep but its quite good for your first track.
@sniperdubb: The vocals sound a bit off time in places but nice effort man.
@ lordbid: I like the whole concept of the song its quite good with the whole acclerating bass.

Hey guys just wondering if you could give me a bit of feedback on my track Garden of Eden? It's atmospheric with a dubstep like beat. It's a WIP obviously or I wouldn't be posting in this thread but just wondering how I could improve it?

Cheers :)

@Afromike - I think the kick needs some more presence in this one, and maybe your snare too, seem a little weak in the mix atm. Its really a very beautiful song, some very good vibes on this one. I think for the most part you should really concentrate on the mixdown on this one, there are elements that are standing out and need some equing and such. But I really like it, very world music esque.

@EDN - ha its cool though I like your idea of just making these symphonic tracks as a kind of practice, definitely a great way to learn how too use your instruments as well as composition and harmonies. I personally really like it, great emotional content in this one. mix down is sounding good too although I personally think it is a lot easier to do that when using more traditional instruments. Carry on I say

@weedcali: melodies are on point nice track

@TRaffikz: beautifully sounding

@AfroMike: the songs vibe are amazing love it love it

now for my little tune im making its my 2nd tune im making in reason 4 and i think im getting the hang of it but i wish my basses were fatter and cleaner but heres what i got :D

@sniperDUBB
I reckon this would be nice but the vocals are way out of time with the melody and it just puts me off
also maybe try using a more punchy snare sample

@TRaffikz
love the sitar/guitar sounding samples, give it a nice vibe
wobbles are cool, but could do with a bit of bitcrusher or something to make it a bit dirtier,
maybe its just me
sick one though

@weedcali
great vibes, liked this
only thing I'd say is maybe less shorter notes and more longer held ones,
some times i thought it could just be more drawn out since its such a mellow tune,
but I did like 1:09-1:36 etc.

and here's my wip, first one uploaded. will return feedback

@sniperDUBB
i dig it! it would be probably better with a great lead or something. sounds good, but kinda basic.

@Mannyyyyy
bass on the drop sounds hella good. you should give more presence to the drums in order to break brains.

@TRaffikz
pretty sick man!! not much to add... maybe a change of rhyrhm in the hihats now and then... maybe go from straight to triplets or something just to spice it up... keep it up

here's my WIP for this month...

@Unabomber - I really enjoyed this tune, it's not overwhelming really.. some nice acoustic guitar, and some real nice wobbles.

@Mannyyyyy - Sounds pretty good to me.. Finish that thing up. I wanna hear the full version.

@TRaffikz - Yeah, this song is right up my alley. Good stuff, man. I've done songs with that sort of bass too.. I like.

I suppose I should go ahead and post this in here..
This is my attempt at recreating the "DatsiK/Excision" type bass.. took me a while to figure this out.
Anyways, I made this really basic intro and loop of one bassline.. I think i'm getting pretty close.

What do you guys think?
