Slumdog Millionaire is a good giggle after it's over. If you've been to India, it's redolent. I love the shit scene because that's what you are reduced to in the sub-incontinent: bowels. I proclaim India a great place to die. Even better than here.

I just found another really great movie - Three Times by Hsiao-hsien Hou who did Flowers of Shanghai and Puppetmaster..also great films...

WARNING!! these films are very subtle and serious..they may not appeal to those under the age of 27..

The movie Three Times tells 3 different simple love stories set in 3 different time periods...the early 60's, early 1900's..and today..

The film is absolutly beautiful..captures the light of the times..makes you think on where we are today..and how different our culture in just 100 years..

"99 francs" --> this film is a really dark critique of modern captitalism. sometimes it reminded me of fear and loathing in las vegas, but only sometimes. a real dark satire i would give 9/10.

It's overrated, not nearly as original as I was led to believe and predictable as anything, but a perfectly watchable film - 6/10

Recently saw "Mean Streets," for the first time - i'd give it a 7/10 taking into account it was filmed in 1973.

You gain a real sense of perspective when you watch the movie as to what's shaped cinema over the last 20 years. Scorsese sets the trends that others follow.

Harvey Keitel was pretty badass in it, and you gain an instant liking to his character. But, he's robbed of his performance, because De Niro is a scene stealer in every sense of the word. He had me riveted to the screen.

Don't watch this if: You don't like dated movies.

Do watch this if: You want to see Scorsese at his rawest, Keitel on point, and you want to see De Niro really act (well) - and gain some understanding into what influenced Quentin Tarantino and a host of other film-makers.

Yeah, I thought the same. Tadanobu Asano is cool as hell though.

Great sci fi flick when you get over the rather rubbish robot and Leslie Neilson in a serious role.

Means street is wicked, raw is definitely the right word for it.
I finally got round to watching Dark Knight last night, and it was bloddy good. Rachel is not the one though, Dent's half face is the one.
