started getting hangovers

played 'forgive' by burial when my girlfriend was round, halfway through song she looks at me and says 'this isnt music, its just noise!'

Had A level chemistry resit yesterday, was really prepared for it (getting A's in mocks etc) cause been revising hard. Was my last chance to up grade to get into leeds uni as i'm in gap year. I needed a B, so was looking pretty good. Only problem is... I thought it was today . Fucked that one... what a waste of a year.

on a sorta related note, i just bought Untrue, paid for it, waited for it, got really excited, listened to it front to back twice, loved it, played for a friend who loved it, and he says to me "yo, send this to me I wanna copy!"..... kinda pissed me off. I paid/waited, he did neither, and he wants/expects the full reward for what I did. to own perfect, full quality faithful copies of all the files for his very own use. We talked about this, and I haven't decided whether or not to give them to him or not. If I don't he will just download any Burial he can find on p2p, or stream it on youtube, but he will never buy his own. If I do it, I'll be sharing one of the best albums I've ever heard and spreading the music, but it just seems wrong. Of course the conflict goes for all the other music i buy too.... what do I do when I'm faced with this? It's not just a stranger trying to score them online, its like your friend asking you to burn a cd for them. But it feels different than that. Even tho the cost of a blank cd would just be uneconomical, I'd almost rather burn it for him because he'd have to wait, and would have to upload the cd himself if he wants to back it up. Instead of just receiving a .zip in the email.

what do u think the Artist would want?

id say they'd be happier with you doing him a copy, instead of being another torrent seeder < if thats the correct term

yeh. that's actually pretty insightful.. part of my rationale was that he's just gonna support a naughty website. I don't understand how those sites make any money though in the first place.. i don't use them so i dunno what the ad market is like, but i mean, if your site's illegal what are you going to successfully advert on it?

Me and a mate did this, sort of. If he had a CD I wanted, and vice versa, we'd swap them for a while. It's a tough one, because while you are spreading the music, you aren't really helping the artist THAT much, especially in the case of Burial who makes no money through live shows as he doesn't do them.
