Yeah the back story to Grey Matter was really something that the series has needed for a while now, and it's finally revealed Walt's true motivations.

You can really start to tell he's becoming the antagonist...

not really, they've used it from the beginning

i thought in season two it was clear that that Walt had some sort of past/relationship with Gretchen, whether she cheated with him, or she did with his partner. anyway, i'm guessing thats probably why he fell out with one of them and took the 5k payout.

regardless, think its a cheap move bringing this back into the storyline. last episode showed that it was almost as if the whole reason of cooking was because Walt was jealous of his friends (who have been irrelevant bar a few episodes). i'll take this back if Grey Matter becomes a major factor in the storyline/distribution as opposed to just stating how much they make.

nah man it's just the tip of the iceberg, one of a number of things in his pre-cancer life that made him resentful. Domineering bitchy wife, in a job where no-one respects him, having to part-time at a carwash. Cooking Meth allowed him to be in control for the first time.

So the DEA have 'a man on the inside'...I thought it was Todd until he pulled the trigger so remorselessly.

He was lucky not to be disposed of...now i'm thinking he might be Mikes son. Maybe.

Either way he could be the undoing of the whole operation. He took the jar with the tarantula in, which is covered in the boys prints. That smile on Todds face in the car...

Got me thinking how easy it could be to connect all the dots...If the company that own the methalamine find out the solution has been watered down and, for any reason, don't suspect China of diluting it then they will probably turn to the train drivers to see if anything happened in transportation. We already know they was running late as a result of the truck on the track, so questions will be asked.
And given the vastness of the desert around its very improbable the truck driver would have stopped his vehicle bang on the track in the event of a break down. Possible but unlikely.
Based on where the train stopped and which tanker was diluted its easy to deduce that the take took place over the bridge. Under the bridge was were the vats were buried so the earth was disturbed and I'm sure the body was not buried too far away from the scene. They know the kid was last seen heading into the desert.
The police are tracking Mike, if they follow him to the lock up and find the methalamine they are connected to the theft and possibly the murder. And if Todd is connected to Mike and the jar is found then they are fucked.
