Can someone try and explain the difference between techstep and neurofunk to me?
I always thought neurofunk was heavy techstep, stuff like Misanthrop

The 2 are pretty different. Techstep has been around since maybe late 95-96 and really blew up in 97 with allot of output from the likes of Trace and Nico, Future Forces, Dom, Tech Itch amongst many others. Neuro came a littel later with Ed Rush and Optical's virus stuff. Both have changed quite a bit over the years with neorufunk probably being more popular. You don't really here allot of people play what I would call proper techstep any more.

I cant listen to that at work but going off the producer and year I'd say its techstep. Decoder made some amazing techstep around 96-98. I can't really suggest any neuro stuff as I have very little interest in it. However I suppose in some ways you could say allot of neuro was a progression from techstep with producers known for producing more techy sounding tunes later releasing a more neuro vibe. People like Stakka and Skynet and again, Ed Ruch and Optical. This is all opinion ofcourse.
