He doesn't remember what the tattoo's represent he has to piece the dots together.. but he always remembers that his wife was killed by someone hence why he's on an endless quest to kill the supposed murderer.DiegoSapiens wrote:how is that he wakes up everyday and he don´t remember anything except that he has that illness that he forgets everything, i mean if you wake up and see tattoos all over your body you will think wtf is that and don´t care of what they say

Apparently the director didn't know Bale had lost so much weight, supposedly Bale wanted to lose another 10 pounds but the director wouldn't let him

Nolan 'gets away' with a lot of logical fallacies but it's only really annoying because the tone in his films often is one that takes itself so seriously.
There's that bit in stagknight where baleman jumps out of a window where Heef is having a party where everyone is sort of held hostage.. apparently Heef just left that party but there's no follow up. Stuff like that all the time in his work and WE get to feel dumb. .
The following is quite good tho.

Heath probably cleared out soon after, knowing that hanging around in hotel rooms by himself wouldn't end very well.DRTY wrote:surely... Batman left, which is what heef wanted... what dya want, an even longer film?hubb wrote:

I strongly second Jacob's Ladder.Mason wrote:just watched the machinist, badboi film! Can anyone recommend anything similar?
Primer is great as well
Ghajini, the Indian Memento. Stands well on its own imo.
The Science of Sleep
Indentity is a real decent film
Frailty is as well
Insomnia - Christopher Nolan did a remake but it was kinda meh, check the 1997 version though
Stephen King's Thinner is similar in a way, not a very good movie but it's entertaining.
American Psycho of course
The Shining of course

Stumbled home one night and this was on BBC2 @ 3am. Quite enjoyed it partly due to it being in French.wormcode wrote:The Science of Sleep

If you want to see Christian Bale destroy his body again check out Rescue Dawn from Werner Herzog... really good film too, great cast.

The Last Exorcism II B2B Insidious
I enjoyed TLE, but part 2 was kind of meh. Had some some good(if not obvious) foreshadowing, but then said foreshadowing led to nothing(sequel I guess). I was a fan of the first one but was disappointed with this one, way too much by the numbers.
I have already seen Insidious and loved it, going in for a second viewing to see if it still hold up. Probably should turn the lights off, straight eyes down bizness.

Pretty decent and entertaining, not amazing though. Nicely shot, good support from Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce, pretty fucking violent in places...shootings, throat slitting, heads smashed in with various things, rape, castration and a fucking dark graphic depiction of tarring & feathering.

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
SOOOOO finally saw Tree Of life... Don't really know what to think of it. Beautiful shots, Very intimate family portrait but by moments it becomes a string of metaphysical explosions that goes BOOM CREATION OF THE WORLD, BOOM EVERYTHING IS ONE, BOOM LOVE IS THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING.
As much as I loved the narration and the nature shots in Thin Red Line, because they went so well and flowed with the rest of the movie, here it's like Malick shot the film chronologically and remembered from time to time "Hey I haven't enlightened everyone about the meaning of life in 30 minutes I should catch up" then proceeds to put as much symbolism as possible in 15 minutes time.
Still a beautiful movie with its moments though, the sequences when Jack realises he's falling into violence and tries to fight it are pretty much perfect, but I spent more time trying to clear that fog of ideas around everything rather than enjoying the movie. Should watch a second time.
