Try 12hrs a day in an office and see if you still say that
I wouldn't mind that actually lol. 10 hours a day of non-stop loading appliances into trucks really wears you out. As soon as I get home, I either pass out or go see my GF. Only real time I have for producing is on the weekends. I'm lucky to ever catch a break.

True say; one of the bonuses of having 60hrs working weeks is Internet and Audacity :)

I would die without internet. I maybe watch TV 1 hour a week. I'm always messing around with samples or playing some Crossfire when I'm home.

try 8 hrs here

I start 7:30 and end at 4.

Wub - why audacity?
Try Wavosaur with Reaper.
Reaper is soo lite installed on a flash drive and Wavosaur gives you the extra editing you want.
I think I`ve already suggested this though so excuse my repost.

Because I've been using it pretty much since it came out and it's second nature to me. I like the fact I can chop drum beats and create background ambience soundbeds whilst on a conference call without having to think too much about the shortcut commands I'm using - it does everything I need it to do, and more importantly I know it.

Plus I have Audacity on my home machine as well, so taking projects from one to another is relatively painless. No need to learn something else when all my needs are being met.

Right, collaboration thread is up and running, that's my little DSFP mission for morning sorted. Hopefully won't turn into an utter clusterfuck by the end of the day

Just listening to Immortal Technique, JMT and Snowgoons makes you cool.
Hating Skrillex makes you awfully cool. No... one... must... make... music... the... mass... likes...

Worth the Otime?

no amount of money could be given to me in exchange for my mental health, which i can promise, would not exist if i was working 12 hour days. 8 is pushing it for me.

Because it's my choice. I choose to get into the office at 7am, I choose to stay until 7pm, I choose to not take lunch. I never do anything in this world because I feel I have to do. I only ever do stuff that I want to do; that includes my job.

I wish i shared the same work attitude as you. I'd be rollin in the bank!!! But i also take it that you choose to work these insane hours everyday for living expenses? Or you just like having a fat wallet?

honestly, if i were you i would seek out overtime pay. Even if you enjoy you're work, there's no harm in asking for a little extra money for your extra dedication. I don't know any foreign labor laws, but in the States, 8+ hours of legitamate payed work means overtime.
