@ Naus- Enjoyed both of those, they sound like actual songs rather than the 'bits and bobs' I put together. Very chilled- can't say more on the production to be honest, I like it like this.
@ Vidzak- I'm feeling that tune, definitely the intro. I'd perhaps say some of the automation on the whubs are a bit clunky (notelenghts/retrigger?.) I actually prefer the more filtered bit at the beginning, I like the crazy sounds coming in once the second break is going but the main wobble sound isn't as good as for the 1st drop. Some more of that shuffle/percussion build up needs to be reintroduced I'd say.
@ Frazer F- I'd agree with the others. Nice ideas. When you're EQing the different parts (that bass/snare/hi-hat all sound really separate in the drop) maybe look at where you've got boost/attenuation and blend/jigsaw that shit together! With the second track, it just seems odd that first 'drop' is not in tune/key with the intro- just a bit of transposition needed there or maybe that's how you want it.
@ Kingthing- I thought this would be a bit of a gay chippy thing but no, it works. Reminds me of 2D very slightly. ~(basement Jazz by the way) There's something in that Mother's dub day tune I really like. The vocals sound a bit separate though, a bit more chopping jumping would tie them into the beat I think. Just an idea.
@ Kal- (Logik) sorry first thing is that stupid 808 noise on the 15th, everyone recognises that, it just sounded a bit silly in there. I like that vocal (vocoder?) messy noise? Again it feels like its over the top of the track than part of it though. The percussion aside from the snare is pretty hidden, I get that it's a downtempo one but a bit of shuffle wouldn't go amiss.
Now please remember this if I FINALLY ever put some tracks on here.

And lo I have returned!
My 2 DnB tunes at the top of my player are much better than my dubstep but this is dubstepforum so I guess I should ask for feedback on
"highness" and
"cat" my two latest ventures into dubstep. (Posted Cat on here a while ago but its undergone a few changes since then.) Tunes are on my myspace here -
http://www.myspace.com/sativabreather
@Vidzak - This tune is wicked! Love the drums and everything feels real beefy and brutal. The only thing I don't like is the EQ'ing on your shakers and maybe the hats too but aside from that everything is prime keep it up
@Naus - A bit too minimal for my liking but I like a lot of the sounds you've used and the little vocal shots that come in are nice. I think some little riffs and things you could get away with using more and the one at the start maybe a bit less? Altho I do like that opening synth.
My eyes are hurting so im gonna get off the comp but I might drop more feedback later if I get some!

I liked this. at first i wasn't into the drum sounds, but i started getting into it when they dropped for a bit and came back in. I was expecting the bass to be a bit more rah!!l at this point, too. but it was steady the whole way.
Haha, Thanx man, this is my first.. dont even know how to make them Rah, Im using Logic, and this is my 3rd day on it, how can i make it more Bassier? im usin samples aswell... i dont actually know unless u tell me what i can do with it.. Thanx

I like! Wicked sound effects, where'd you find em?
I'm a dnbhead myself so the lay out of dubstep still confused me. lol

I actually enjoy your dubstep tune more. "Cat" I just find some of the sounds in that dnb sound very..."toyish" if that makes sense. Though you should check and make sure the beats are lined up. They seem out of sink in some parts!

Made most of them in either FM8 or Massive- I prefer to make my own samples because its a lot more fun

Cheers for the feedback!

Hi Sw@t,
Here are my thoughts:
"The Rumble" - The song itself is well put together, the arrangements, soundbytes, etc all are good. The beep sound to me, however sounds out of tune with the other instrumentation (like an actual note clash). You may have been going for that though.
"Rehab" = THIS IS DOPE! The melody is great and the initial synthy bass sounds so unique (how did you do that?). If I had any criticism for this track it's that the bass after the drop sounds less cool than the initial one (but mostly because the initial synth/bass sounds so cool).
"6 Million" - I like the vocal-y sample in the background. This one is cool, downtempo, nice.
For being new, you are off to a great start. Everything is in the right place, I think my biggest piece of advice would be to read the production bible and read up on mixing in general because your arrangements are good, and a mixing will help give your tracks that final polish.

Phat as in bigger or phat as in more low end, etc? I always have troubles with my snares, I can get any sound I want but I'm always worried I'm compromosing the snare cause I find it can make or break a tune as odd as that sounds.

http://www.beatportal.com/remix/detail/ ... pretation/ ------ right, i entered into a depeche mode remix contest, to progress through the contest, it comes down to public vote and votes by those who run the contest. so the more public votes or 'spins' i can get. the better, thanks in advanced!

Well i don't know realy how to make phat sounding snares either but from what i've read you should layer them, maybe use a clap and EQ the bits till it sounds like getting hit in the face
@ [Binge]: Holy sh.. that drop, and suddenly heavyness all over. Sick production nice changes atmo and i love that vocal climax thingy

Hope you'll win!
@ Eops: Good production but it could sound "wider/deeper" .. maybe the limiter fucked it up idk. anyways keep it up.

Hey there! I've been sitting on a remix of that David After Dentist youtube video. (original video @
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txqiwrbYGrs)
It's mostly done, but there are a couple mistakes and in huge need of polishing/a proper mixdown.
I would absolutely love any critiques people have to give as I'm still relatively clueless when it comes to good mixing/eqing/compression.
The ending section is slightly out of pitch and looses some energy, so I may be redoing that, iduno.
Thanks in advance!
