to whoever was talking about getting the guardians out (the hench black armoured things)
Looks like London residents and police upped their game in a big way tonight, wouldn't expect too much to go on without it being big trouble.
Time for Manchester to have a go though it looks:
21:42 Police have been authorised to use baton rounds (plastic bullets)

Just got back from the pub after having a couple of pints with the missus after work. Colliers Wood high street is entirely shut down, all shops are closed even the burly 24hr offies. Very disconcerting, even Tesco was open last night.
Came home to find a letter from my MP (Siobhain McDonagh - Labour) advising me to keep my children inside, call 999 if I see anyone robbing shit, reminding me of events to keep teenagers occupied over summer (including a bouncy castle and Elvis impersonator at one event), and that if I have any concerns, Siobhain and her fellow Councillors will "always come out at night make sure local residents are safe".
Almost tempted to fucking give her a call and say things are kicking off, just to see if she is out and about.

It really is a shame they don't have water cannons.I reckon they would be pretty effective as most of the people rioting are muppets who would piss off home when their trackie gets wet.
