I mean I can't stand Netsky's music but he was a pretty friendly dude when I met him.

How can you not stand Netsky m8 his music is incredible imo. even if it's the bro version of dnb.

Because it's some of the cheesiest blandest dnb ever that's listened to mainly by 19 year olds at student union bars.

strongly disagree. netsky is the most musical dnb out there. I'm not a huge fan of dnb. I'm not into "real" dnb like I am with dubstep. Because imo the "bro" version of dnb is much better than the "bro" version of dusbtep, and better than dnb tracks that consist of some amens with sporadic vocal samples and dub sirens and maybe a synth once or twice.

I'm just as unimpressed by run-of-the-mill, bland soundboy jungle as you are (srsly, how many think breaks can you loop with some deejay shouting over it and dub sirens? Blaaaand), but there's more to it than just bro and jungle.



But yeah, that'd be "my unpopular opnion". All in all, dnb is better this century than it was last. A lot more diverse, with more flavors and sounds. The "jungle era" was ridden by bland, uncreative, SAMEY, bullshit looped breaks with the same bass sounds and samples. We only remember the good tunes with the good drums, while most of it was utterly boring. Tbh, when someone jumps into a dnb discussion and only talks about how good 'jungle' is, I will assume they're trying to be elitist on drum & bass without doing any of the homework.

imo the autonomic scene was the best thing that came from dnb ever, although its offshoots got boring fast (compare mosaic vol 1 to vol 2)
