I mainly like the liquidy stuff, but there's a lot of other dnb out there that I like too, but I didn't get into "hardcore continuum" music until dubstep really, so I wasn't around for the ol' dnb days. I can only look back. Some of my favorites are:





I don't get what's to hate about the above netsky tune? It's got real nice sub bass, good drums, nice lil melody, decent vocals... whats wrong with it?

use of the same break throughout the entire tune
bait vocal sample
the fact its boring

i refuse was cool the first time i heard it on dnb arena.

netskys tracks are just so cookie cutter, i remember hearing the album he put out and was just...bored. i really liked king of the stars the first time i heard it too, but it really lost its edge after a couple plays.

ok, its fine that you like netsky. but lets be honest, its not the most inspiring music. its just very very very dull.

also, you said earlier you werent up in the nuum till recently and i think thats where the problem kind've lies... most people here have been listening to dnb since 2000 (and even earlier if you're an old fart), so this isnt new and it just sounds like a very watered down version of what dnb was.

That Memory Lane bit is nice enough but like the rest of this stuff it just feels a bit flat to me.

As for I Refuse, like Nev said, that sample...

those kind of samples were a major put off for me when dnb started to become slightly more mainstream over here...

it seems like it was trying to hit a cord with all the angsty teenagers who have loved and lost etc.... but it just sounds like wank imo

yeah true on the nuum issue but when it comes to my opinion, netsky is very inspiring and the furthest thing from dull. there's a lot more dull-ass dnb out there.

Those brostep producers who take a jab at Dnb and just incorporate growls and wubs, but of course the excuse they make is "Drumstep" (that word makes me cringe).
