I never feel anything on 'push' day itself. Only the doms. And even my tris dont'get doms, but they grow anyway. I'm coo' with it.

What do y'all do for calves? I notice mine grow like fuck just from deadlifts and squats. Anything else doesn't do anything for my calves.

<3 my leg genetics btw

Calf raises. Guess you could do them standing with a heavy weight, we've got a seated leg press machine, rather than do it with the full foot on the plate, stick your toes on the plate and push up just off the toes.

Diamond push ups are nice for triceps too.
When i started with dips i'd hurt my sternum too, nowadays I never feel it.

Thanks for that, Gen. You're a great help as always!

Yeah, for triceps I second the close-grip bench but I also don't 'feel' it on the day. Cable rope pull downs always get a burn for me but I can grow from almost any tricep exercise.
Calves and legs in general are shit for me - it's where my genetics fail the most. For calves I always do short, heavy sets. 5x5 or 6x4 as heavy as my back and grip can take, tbh.

Pretty crazy how merely using them in stablizers as squats/deads is enough to grow calves on me, while some people require detailed calf work from every angle. There's always an element of genetic differences, but with calves it's so much more than other muscles.

But yeah, legs are the only thing I have truly great genetics for. They're pretty average besides that. I think all my current gains and progress are just from knowledge, strict diet and proper exercise.

Big calves is highly genetic yes. You either have big calves or you don't. If you have little calves you will never get those huge calves some have.

Yeah of course! This thread isn't about who's the henchest, it's just about self-improvement. Well done for committing yourself to something and I only made it to week three of that challenge before giving up so -> :Q:

Adding 11 lbs to last week's deadlift tomorrow (more fun to say than 5 kgs)

I WILL ROCK DIS SHIT.

Last time I did deadlifts had the biggest smile ever when I was done <3

good shit.

I put off doing my deadlifts twice last week because I was feeling so flat. I find them the best but most physically draining exercise.

Do you use straps or opposing grips?

Really? Squats for me. Since I've been going ass to the grass and reaaally breaking parallel they're awful to do.

Opposing grip, though I try to keep that to a minimum to improve grip strength. I follow my deads up with bent over barbell rows and then bicep curls, though. So my forearms really take a beating that day and it's hard to only use overhand for the entire exercise.

You're into straps, right?

I only use straps to tie little plates in the middle of a barbell when I want to add weight by a smaller increment haha. It works.

Guessing this has already been covered in here somewhere but is there a guide or post about full workouts at home?

Don't wanna sound like a know all, but I pretty much don't workout with any equipment at all. (about 90% of what I do is bodyweight exercises) Such as pull up, push ups, dips, muscle ups, front levers etc. etc.
You could ask me some questions if you'd want.

Making steady progress, lost over 2kg in 3 weeks despite the fact my diet hasn't been that great and haven't been working out as much as i should.
