I heard Chimpo - Buzzin in the dance this summer and it blew me away but listening to it afterwards, I doubt I'd really take note of it if I'd only heard it headphones.

Let's be honest. If you're hearing it on a system, you're probably at a club or something. If you're at a club or something, you're probably either chuggin or chongin. Judgement isn't gonna be the best.

this lol, we're not underground enough for this place though bro. When I'm in ganda, and something like "Not Nineteen Forever" comes on, I'll join in the hype, but that tune is shit.

The "hear it out on a system" argument only works for a select few producers imo. Coki and Peverelist are definitely in on that though, its like those two actually produce on a sound system

yeah this, but i would say that guys like pev, kahn, kowton etc are really really good at making their tunes sound dumb good on systems (and still sounding great at home ofc)

Yeah i agree, they know what will sound good on a big system, they have a good understanding of the context in which their music is played

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

I had exactly the same thing, never really rated the tune until I heard it at system and all of a sudden it just made total sense.

That is the equivalent of going on an nfl forum and telling people that what ever the players do with their time, they only do for the fans entertainment. It has never been like that and not once.

Some people get their product sold and reappropriated though and that might look similar to what you are saying, but that doesn't mean the producer wasn't feeling it as much as the next longhaired gentleman with a piano and a metronome.

Innit, i thought Soundman & Out Of Reach sounded fairly average for ages & the mixdowns were dodge, then they made sense first time i heard them at System.

I think you could make the case for VIVEK more than nearly anyone else who makes the most tunes solely designed for big system play.
