Some guys in birmingham have started putting on a night like this, works really well, a lot of people who don't produce come along as well.

It's called Mangle, think Sunk or someone posted it in the granulization thread in sound design, which I originally missed. Then someone else put it up in a FB group, I watched it and my jaw dropped;
got a submission myself too, this should be a good week

Yeah that mangle plug looks pretty ace. Probably gonna have to pick it up once I switch to bitwig to replace the Ableton Granulator.

Been playing with it all morning it's FUCKING INCREDIBLE
Had a bit of drama early one when it crashed FL, but I restarted the program and it's been fine since. Still learning the controls, got the automation working fine, currently have the main parameters (grain rate, pitch, reverse, sustain) linked to my MIDI controller rotaries and am just free jamming directly into the Edison record as output.
Only used the one sample loop so far as well for my test bed, it's such good fun it's unbelievable. Going out now, but once I'm back and showered I'm going to start writing some MIDI patterns and see if I can get something a bit more rhymthic going, maybe set it to a evolving drum beat and see what happens.
Already for my £20 worth of enjoyment out of this so far this morning I'd say

My submission is going to be in this morning. Sorry I'm a little late. I had to work a lot the last couple days so I haven't been able to finish it. But got a few hours this morning and it should be good to go.

Struck out three times this week. Like songs that started really good, and then I worked into shit. I just don't know how to leave well enough alone.... I say that, but then the kernals were not enough to stand on their own... well, in moments they were, but not all together in a song. Wild stuff though...I only have fun doing the wild stuff, but I'm only ever happy with the clean stuff... I'm in trouble dudes.

Yeah, it's almost like you have to save a first revision once you've got something promising. Then if you fuck it up you can roll back and try a different direction.

Yes in PM! You sent an email, which is all good I suppose.
Anybody else out there?
Can we get a little roll call?
I think I got like 14 from Bud, dfault, JBE, Hashkey, Lil Jiz, that's off the top of my head, and I'm not in my right mind. Oh, what about wub? Hello WUB, send me a pm!
Hey what happened to Demaine?

Okay, here it is lads. So sorry we didn't see wub's face. Utter disappointment, really.
I just want to point out that there are more discrete entries to the TUNA! than the sample contest. We are like the subway down here, just chugging along under the metropolis.
And again, I've got two weeks of crit to do, I did preliminaries last week, just like first impressions, but never really got down to it. I Promise I will get to it. Maybe not with the best monitoring, but I will get to it.
