I think people do Kahn a disservice by talking about him purely in a dubstep sense. Those 2 tunes aren't really comparable, but at least Kahn is switching things up with his many styles.
I really thought people would be done with the dungeon-y style now, but I forget it's not like the dubstep doors closed, people keep getting into it so it keeps it alive, I guess.
Nothing will beat say, 07-10 for me, where it felt like there was a real peak in the amount of crazy influences all coming together to create a time where I could pick up 5 or 10 records a week and none of them would sound alike. It's like, by then, word had spread enough that loads of producers were coming to the table, but bringing so much. Hardly buy any records now, but Kahn is a guy I'll always look out for, mostly because I don't know what's coming.
I agree with pretty much everything you said. I wasn't around for 07-08, but I feel like that was the era to beat all other eras for dubstep. I don't love dungeon but if it were to die out, dubstep as a whole would pretty much go with it, and obviously no one wants that. I would love to see dungeon replaced with a different style of dubstep though. More skream/benga/coki/cluekid/kromestar/goth-trad style. More energy, more positive vibes, less darkness.
As far as Kahn goes, there are lots of Kahn tunes I love, namely LNB, Way Mi Defend, Over Deh So, Tehran, Illy, Polar, etc. But when a song doesn't have a strong drum presence, I just can't get into it.

I'm saying that is an example of a dungeon track that I do like. It's not like I hate all of it. There are some gems in there but there are a lot of average, bland ones too.
