Also, fucking buy the tunes dude. Yes, even if it's vinyl only.
Thanks for the other suggestions. Did not know any of those. I do buy some tunes, but its unrealistic for me to buy all my music.
Here is an example of new stuff I really like:
And an example of new stuff I'm not so into:

Personally, for me, that Kahn tune smashes that Killawatt & Ipman tune out the park. Sounds like so much stuff I've heard already with very, very slight changes. I think people do Kahn a disservice by talking about him purely in a dubstep sense. Those 2 tunes aren't really comparable, but at least Kahn is switching things up with his many styles.
I really thought people would be done with the dungeon-y style now, but I forget it's not like the dubstep doors closed, people keep getting into it so it keeps it alive, I guess.
Nothing will beat say, 07-10 for me, where it felt like there was a real peak in the amount of crazy influences all coming together to create a time where I could pick up 5 or 10 records a week and none of them would sound alike. It's like, by then, word had spread enough that loads of producers were coming to the table, but bringing so much. Hardly buy any records now, but Kahn is a guy I'll always look out for, mostly because I don't know what's coming.

that kahn track is one of my favourites by him, also how can you say that you don't like all this new dungeon yet post a stereotypical dungeon track and say u rate it?

Hadn't heard that Kahn one before. It's corny as hell with those vocals though

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I wasn't around for 07-08, but I feel like that was the era to beat all other eras for dubstep. I don't love dungeon but if it were to die out, dubstep as a whole would pretty much go with it, and obviously no one wants that. I would love to see dungeon replaced with a different style of dubstep though. More skream/benga/coki/cluekid/kromestar/goth-trad style. More energy, more positive vibes, less darkness.
As far as Kahn goes, there are lots of Kahn tunes I love, namely LNB, Way Mi Defend, Over Deh So, Tehran, Illy, Polar, etc. But when a song doesn't have a strong drum presence, I just can't get into it.

I'm saying that is an example of a dungeon track that I do like. It's not like I hate all of it. There are some gems in there but there are a lot of average, bland ones too.

Meh, everything dies out to some extent. What's the Kurt Cobain/Neil Young saying? "Better to burn out than fade away" or something like that. No point dragging it on just by rehashing shit over and over and diminishing the impact that dubstep once had. The last year is the first point I've started to think that people might be right when they say that dubstep is dead/dying. Take it off life support imo.
Nobody's really doing anything that creative any more (inb4 people name 20 producers that just sound like everyone who came before them) and those that are still known for dubstep seem to be playing the same tunes they've played for ages now.
If dubstep went away, we'd still love it. Our records wouldn't disappear and memories of raves wouldn't die with it. We'll always have Croydon...

People could make tunes in the same style as the old bangers by the producers I've named earlier that are still creative and don't sound the exact same. What if those 20 producers you're talking about quit dungeon and started making bangers? 2008 revival yea

I've been listening to dubstep for the best part of 5 years and although it's become very saturated/repetitive over the years and it doesn't excite me as much as it once did, there's still some new stuff out there I really enjoy:
tbh lump in kowton LAS desto twwth too, fuck genres (when they start becoming restrictive)
imo ppl should be wondering where the exciting music is @ and in the example above sgnl life are vaguely dubsteppy at times but it doesn't really matter. dubstep was never really good in and of itself (if that makes any sense) it was just ppl making great stuff. but as long as ppl are making dubstep influenced/related stuff that is sick dubstep isn't really dead tho. i guess the scene has weakened since '09 in terms of the number of players bringing out great interesting stuff (imo ofc) that firmly lies in the genre but maybe that was always going to be the case.
^if any of u can decipher that ramble

This has got me thinking, what's happened to Matty G? His hip-hop influenced style of dubstep was amazing
