I don't care about dubs at all, tbf. Just don't excite me. I'll get excited if/when they come out.

I like them, but only if they are new and exciting tunes. I mean the dmz guys will just hold a tune back and rinse it in a dj set. It doesn't matter if it's not released, hearing stuff you know constantly in a dj set is boring.

I want to hear something interesting and exciting in a dj set. I don't care if it's new or old just as long as it's placed in the set well and is still fresh to my ears. Hearing the same tunes played by the same djs all the time is dull.

That' brings me on to an unpopular opinion I have: dubstep classics sets are often boring and far too many people are doing them now. Fine if it's a dj putting their angle on it or playing lost tunes from a while back but just playing "classics" like some people are doing often now is fucking boring. I don't need to hear midnight request line or anti war dub again for the billionth time just because everyone knows and loves those tunes and the genre is hard to find exciting new tunes in anymore. Going to a club just to hear the same seven year old tunes you own copies of is the same as going to a mainstream club to hear the chart music you know that you can sing along too (except obviously dmz is better than guetta).

dubstep calssics are boring because ppl forgot that there were other tunes made during that "classics" period, so many good tunes never get played anymore while you get to enjoy the same old same old (not that I'm complaining in some cases) but there's so much stuff left untouched imho
also a mix of old and new stuff is still the best!

They don't have to be new and exciting per sé, like DMZ vs MZN, or footcrab pt 3, or w/e, idc.,, I like dubs, when they're used as dubs, by a select few

From a DJ point, I absolutely love dubs, knowing you can offer something that nobody else does.

I meant from a buyer/listener POV. Just see some people get really hyped up about some 5/6 year old tunes that probably aren't ever coming out, or aren't coming out for years, and I just wonder how they maintain that level of enthusiasm over radio rips.

Only reason i'll get excited over dubs is when they have a chance of coming out, or if i have them. I've got a few dubs im pretty sure no one else has on wax and thats a pretty sweet feelin, not gonna lie.

If the tune is really good and unreleased it is nice to hear in a dance (10 dread commandments vip or whatever), but I'm not gonna sweat over hearing it, its just a nice extra

The release of 'Badman VIP' was so anti-climactic. For fans, which I am first and foremost anyway, that whole dub mindset takes away quite a lot of enjoyment out of the music. To me anyway. By the time you can hear the whole thing without another tune or a DJ over it, the exciement was slowly drained from it.

I like dubs and VIPS. It makes it abit more fun as you never quite know what to expect from a set.
Releasing VIPS is a weird one for me, I mean id like to have it but its not really the same, a friend got BadmanVIP and now id be more happy to hear someone use the normal version and as much as I like (and own) Blakes Changes remix its never going to be as special as hearing it out once in a blue moon.

Kahn I swear has like 8 versions of Percy and a million other things which is why its allways fun seeing him.

because it was an average tune.

i thought it was a banger on headphones (when it got pulled out on radio/podcasts), then saw KM one night and they droppped it and it massively underwhelming.

Let me try and rephrase what I meant. I like the dubs, but I don't see how people get so excited about them. Personally, I like to control music, listen to it when I want to. Honestly can't be bothered to stay up till 1 or something to listen to some radio show full of average tunes just for one unreleased tune. When it's available for me to buy, I'll get hyped.
