Wanted to but if James Cameron called it "the best space film ever made" it can only be a standard greenscreen drama :| Will probably go & see it though

In that case watch the Lone Wolf and Cub movies, Lady Snowblood, Master Of The Flying Guillotine and King Boxer and play "spot the bit Kill Bill totally ripped off".

Oh yeah and Tobe Hooper's Death Trap. Although that's just a random line that gets robbed from that ("My name is Buck, and I'm ready to fuck" or whatever).

Well yeah, I just mentioned it because it's the most note-worthy part of the whole film, imo

Chuck an exclamation mark on the end of that and you've got a Sunday Sport/Loaded sourced box quote

"Makes City Of God look like Disney!"
"Trainspotting on acid!"
"Man Bites Dog meets Twilight!"

etc

Superman 2013

This was... meh. It moved too fast in some places and too slow in others. He also gave most monster movies a run for their money with the amount of destrucion. Odd he only gets pissed when Zod frys some random family with lazer beams. Also the military must have seriously cut back funding as one guy is an army researcher, front line fighter and also the best pilot for flying B52s (or whatever that massive plane is)

I laughed so much at Russell Crowe having to wear that future leather jacket that I couldn't carry on.

The Way Back

Image

Based on the true story of a group of men who escaped a gulag in Siberia and walked to freedom in India. There is some stunning scenery and knowing that it's based on a true story creates a real sense of empathy but the ending kind of peters out, which is a shame.

Colin Farrel should never attempt a russian accent again.

6.5/10

Frost Nixon

About the interview between Frost and Nixon, wasn't expecting too much as it seemed they'd gone out their way to think of the least imaginative title ever but it was a really good film.
