It's a flanger effect that comes with FL Studio.

Ive been here too...... It is a pain in the arse, especially as you have the track mostly completed. :(

Doesnt Audacity have a "vocal removal" tool? Although Im not sure if this removes the vocals so you are just left with the instrumental, which would be no use at all...... I havent used Audacity for ages so I cant be sure. Someone on here will know tho.

How complex is the vocal itself? Is it possible to get someone else to sing/rap/say it for you and use that? Thats what I had to do in the end. It worked a treat but you obviously need a mate who can sing and doesnt mind being recorded, Ive got a mate who sounds just like Alicia Keys its really quite spooky (its a girl mate before anyone says anything :D )

What song is it incidently? Have you tried every internet resource you can? There are shit loads out there.

Good luck man.

Peace

if u have an instrumental version of the track you can do something in cool edit, phase inverting i think!

Dont know how to do it tho

Future music magazine had a feature on it last month i think,

i dint buy it?

dunno why.

Maybe you could find it on the net or summat

If you can get the perfect representation of the track, with no vocals, just invert the phase of it and layer on top on an equal volume, et voila!
