Do you prefer to use a filter to take out frequencies or EQ individual elements?

Or does it depend on what you're trying to achieve?

Filters are a lot more agressive. I only use them if i want to cut all low, mid or high. Also for modulation on synthsounds ofcourse.

I use eq to cut and boost frequencies, like little surgical insicions (probably didn't spell that right.. fuck it i'm dutch  )

You only got the s and the c the wrong way around. :D

Damn sentence structure in Dutch is hard though. I have a Dutch friend who tries to teach me... I usually end up in tears.

EQ is more subtle and will produce a more natural-sounding result if thats what you want.

it depends on if you want a harsh or soft sound and wanna get anal on shit
as always it depends on your choice of sound sculpture and method of working
