inglourious basterds

Saw it last night. if you like watching n a z i fascist fucks getting murdered in the cruelest ways this is right up your alley. I walked out of that theater feeling so satisfied...

Christoph Waltz who plays Hans Hando in the movie is prolly gonna get an academy nomination for his villain role in it, he was truly evil.

The original was cool but I get a feeling this is another tarintino ulltraviolence wank-fest with a self satisfying smug nod to other films, he hasn't made anything good since pulp fiction - they've all just been... well pulp ficition!

i disagree, obviously not as good as pulp fiction but it definitely wasn't a gore porn epic. i was surprised how tame it actually was to be honest. Great dialogue and the camera work was darn tootin. I was shocked how much i liked it tbh

Yeah, it's a homage... I am open minded about it myself. I reckon it could be very mediocre - Kill Bill and that just didn't do it for me. I am still stuck in the 90s! :D

My mate said this about it and he's one of the few people who's opinion I trust when it comes to films:

What's this one like? Put it this way, the lad who did Idi i Smotri won't be having any sleepless nights. Like Spielberg, Tarantino's an arrested adolescent, albeit the kind who like to torture small animals in preparation for their adult career. On viewing this, there's no question that QT has a sadistic streak a mile wide, and the war and the Holocaust are just convenient pretexts for that sadism.

There were a few good things in it, like the splendid young chap who plays the British film critic turned SOE operative - and I'd like to see the films they were plagiarised from. The one good and (AFAIK) original thing in it, was having the actors switch between languages at crucial moments in some scenes. This worked very well to heighten suspense and effect swift changes of mood. You won't be missing anything if you give this one a miss, though.

the language was a great part of it. Firky, you should give it a chance no matter what your friend says. Its a good flick.

Actually, thinking about it, most people I know when it comes to Tarantino's movies never really just "like" his movies. Its either you love it or hate it. Im actually not sure if I think Pulp Fiction is still my favorite of his because of this movie. It just sticks out to me as his style becoming more mature. He can take on more than just shock or violence or whatever his cliche is classified as. Also Tarantino's Hans Hando character was brilliant, can't question that.

i really liked it.. the build up took its time but it did make the film. It was funny in parts where it needed to be and the ending, to quote my mate sitting next to me at the time, "was just fucking awesome"

i'm up for seeing it, but i haven't really enjoyed any of his films apart from the obvious resevoir dogs, pulp fiction and jacky brown was allright.

they seem to all be the same though, sort of like a guy ritchie film.

Some of the scenes in that film are absolutely fucking SICK.

The intro when you meet the SS jew hunter... absolutely IMMENSE bit of film.

Fucking ridiculous comment to make.

Don't care what you say about this film. Compared to 95% of the tosh that comes out this film is well worth the ticket price.

It's not the best film I've ever seen but definitely had a few moments of genius.

I'd love to see if he could pull off a serious film.
