First up, hello. Thought i'd do that here as i'm guessing this is where i'll lurk and post the most.
Just got into dubstep and loving it, wish i'd heard it earlier!

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. Is anyone doing things down here? I just noticed before Skream is playing on the 31st which is better than a good start.

I've finished a tune recently with a dubstep intention. But it's very heavy and has a more garage conventional sound but it's not garage, not grime either. I haven't posted it but i should do later. In the meantime what would you say falls into that category? Its 140bpm pretty distorted kicks, low thud bass, sort of a techno feel just really heavy.
Sounds very stupid now that i've written it.

Skream been and gone mate,3 gigs he played. Also Kode 9 a few weeks back.

Scene is small but very enthusiastic, perfect for packed medium-small venues with very happy punters.

for more local specific info on producers and parties, check out www.dubstepforum.com.au, or www.melbournebeats.com.

;)

You got a myspace or msn or something? keen to hear your track. I got a couple, (check out Bunzero's october SubFm show archive, one on there).

Stick the tune up on Yousendit or myspace or something - sounds interesting from what you say, wouldn't mind a listen.

ay thanks, will keep an eye out.

I set up a myspace page, the tune i was talking about won't work, but there is another on there that does work if anyone wants to check it out. Might be interesting heh
