I'd like to hear Dubway's take on this before making a decision. But yeah, one or two subforums might help the structure of information being exchanged.

Maybe certain people on the forum should understand the term "Dubstep" and should go and clog up other forums if they want to chat breeze about hip hop and other bullshit.

ah but how do you classify dubstep?

"stuff that Engine Room wants to talk about" perhaps?

Dubstep is like Australia, a cuntery full of immigrants (and very few natives), occasionally people are going to start talking in their own languages... ha! that metaphor could run and run!

I definitely think there should be an extra forum for tunes/production, leaving the "important" information like gigs/radio rips/releases in the main forum...

When I go to production forums these days, people are like "what sort of fucking style is that?" it's nice to talk about bass with the people who know it best.

it would be silly to put production in the new/old chunes section.

Nah, not yet.

If/when it becomes necessary, i don't think there's any point in adding anything beyond a production/"listen to my tune" section.

FRESS DUBPLATES ROOM(talk about the new tracks that are createing waves)

RAVES / CLUB ROOMS(you got a rave??? promote it in here , catch all the info on forthcomeing raves in here)

DOWNLOAD ROOM(for radio sets and dj mixes etc etc)

It's much easier to split up a forum early on rather than later. No point waiting if it's inevitable.

Plus it's already become a pain in the arse to find older threads on here and it would make things less cluttered generally.

I say do it but keep it simple, more or less like the dubplate.net forum was...

this topic is long ...

I think the way to go at the moment is sticky threads for production/new tunes, which we got, Big Up Dubway and Seckle on dat, and specific sticky threads for things like upcoming events etc ... I'd rather one movin' room than half a dozen with nuffink goin on ...

re: dubstep / Australia ... but in dubstep change & new tings is welcomed

i tend to agree. the reason this forum has taken off the way it has is due to the amount of heads posting into one single area. dividing it into two has advantages and disadvantages...neither being too drastic. one might go completely dead while the other will be flying... we'll have to see what happens. right now it's a clear majority for a split, and i'm interested to see how this poll will turn out after a week.

I agree that it's far too early to start divinding the forum into 'events', 'production', yada yada yada, as it makes looking for stuff a right pain in the arse, but I do think a devoted mixes section would be handy.

There's SO many good mixes floating around at the moment, that it would be nice to have them in one place. There's no reason why new mixes can't be posted on the main forum as well, just to inform the peeps who only look at the main page.

most ppl are too lazy for double posting (there are even too lazy to look through all topics and find mixes!!!) but if you want that - why don't you do that??? - make a thread for mixes (like you did for production/tunes) and i'll make it sticky
