ive faced a couple of games recently that have really pissed me off in terms of difficulty, for example, viewtiful joe and star wars rogue squadron.

anyone else got any games they've vexed at?

Rogue squadron is on the n64, isn't it?

citybuilder games like caesar 3, pharaoh, settlers, ...
age of empires isn't easy either
and oblivion & fallout, tough games but awesome

yea the first one is. ive been playin the gamecube ones though. still havent completed them and ive been playing them for months now.

although i completed em when i was a kid, which makes it seem as if my gaming skill has gone downhill.

Also, there's a similar one with a bus, where you drive for hours, in a totally straight line, in a featureless landscape, for 1 point.

I would regard myself a "pretty fucking good" with most video games and I seldomly don't finish a game. Finishing SF4 and Resident Evil 5 on Hardest difficulty being some of my achievements.

Ninja fucking Gaiden. Holy shit that game was difficult. One of the very few games I havn't been able to finish. Incredibly fast enemies, they just stab you up and leave you with fuckall health. Not enough power ups either. Its a brutally difficult game, and it pretty much throws you in the deep end from the start.

I loved it, but I couldn't finish it my first try. I got to this boss on Level 16 that was just fucking impossible.

European Extreme on MGS 2 and 3 is insane. If you get seen by an enemy it is mission failed.
