Amp simulations?

Just wondering if anybody ever uses them. If they do could you give an example what for.

Iv tried them in the past and i know alot of people rave on about them but iv never really got along with them, probably just my inexperiance.

I get the general idea of them, but i don't use guitars. so would you use them for processing on your synths?

I use Gearbox (similar to Guitar rig), its great for making a clean sounding bass or lead dirty as hell! Try valve overdrive presets for a warmer sound and hi gain for nasty raspy action. Can sometimes be a bit much though, so use in moderation!
