Anyone else kinda not looking forward to dubstep being big?

Some of you are gonna wonder what the fuck I'm on about there but it's a serious question. But I think it's safe to say that when any genre starts going through the corporate mill it often comes out the other side a little bit too shiny, a little bit too samey, and a little bit too shit.
When something is small and people are into it, they're usually pretty real about whatever "something" is. When it gets big, you get the bandwagon jumpers, scenesters, fakers, pretend experts etc (and don't get me wrong, we get this now).
I cringe when I hear "dubstep explosion" (FaltyDL interview on XLR8R) and other similar terms. I know it's a great thing that it's gonna be big and we'll all have more people to talk about it with but I just can't really say I want that to happen.
But at the same time I'm being a little bit elitist here and I know that. "Yeah we're the "underground"!" - "Fuck the mainstream", "I knew this before you did". etc. And I fully realise this. But I think for dubstep to remain true to it's shit, this is gonna be a bad thing... Or maybe it's just a positive evolution of the genre? I don't fucking know to be honest.
I just really hope the skinny jeans crowd don't get on it. Oh my daze.

People talk a lot about "mainstream" or "commercial" in dubstep, and with a few exceptions (Snoop Dogg n Rhianna for example) i don't know what they're on about. The major's mostly arent in control of dubstep and people aren't making Jay-Z money out of this thing. They're not even making Tiesto money out of this thing (arguably the world's largest DJ).
The problems that dubstep faces now are less it moving from the underground to the overground - it's still mostly way too instrumental and dark for that - more that where it is now is less diverse and too focused on one or two styles.

I just hate how all my mates that used to rinse the fuck out of me (serious, everytime i saw them theyd go wub wub or just keep taking the piss out of dubstep) now like it and are going to shity indy nights and saying how good the dubstep was..... funny thing about indy kids is they say they're "independent" but they are probably the least independent group of people in the world...... THINK FOR YOUR SELF FOR FUCKS SAKE

anyway, it's gonna happen eventually. and then another style of music will be born from the underground, become big, repeeat, and the cycle will repeat itself til the end of time.
