I dont really know where to look..thought some people here would know, if they didnt mind sharing..

Im just keen to buy generally dope hiphop beats to put in my sets, what are the best places to look for them? Is there a solid hearty hiphop mp3 site that caters? or do I have to individually trawl through the internet for them?

Im after just stuff like beats from timbaland..Dilla..keak da sneak (who ever does his production)..maybe even bone thugs etc, because there are plenty of bass heavy and bumpin beats out there that I reckon tear up the clubs without any rapping/singing.

The first thing that springs to mind is using some p2p program, Im sure there will plenty of em on there, but I aint into that..im keen to pay money for some high quality beats.

Any help? I usually buy my stuff through beatport/juno etc.

Buy them on itunes?

Go to a recordstore and seek through the 90's hiphop section for some wax.

I do scrape through my record store regularly but over here in Auckland there isnt too much of that, but I pick up what i can.

if you usually buy your stuff from juno why don't you get the instrumentals from juno ?

they have loads of hip hop on there don't they ?

juno's okay but on the instrumental front it can be a bit limited (i found), but if you dig you can find some stuff

randomly, play.com offer a pretty good range of 320 mp3s, and theyre 79p too, which is nice

7digital has some good stuff but often lower than 320kps..

otherwise, you can often buy instrumental versions of albums (2001, pharcyde, pete rock stuff are all quite common) for fairly cheap and rip them at high quality wav/aiff/320.... legal and cheap

Thanks a bunch, Ill be checking these two sites out. Juno is a bit limited your right, and im not really keen to fuck with CDs anymore but i suppose that is an option.

But yeah thats pretty much the sort of things Im after, so far its been hard to find a site that really covers everything from def jux to stones throw, or even good hyphy, or detroit hiphop or whatever. Its a mission to have to go to every record labels individual site and sign up.
