mixing software - recommendations?

thinking of trying to learn to mix dubstep and thought id try and do it with computer software rather than decks since ive got loads of 320s and dont really want to shell out a fortune on decks and vinyl and then find out i cant mix for shit
any recommended software to use thats not too expensive? and would i need to buy any other hardware to go with it (keyboard etc)?

EZ Badger - you will need a soundcard with 4-out (i.e 4 out = 2 outputs of 2 channels) and best software is probably Traktor (Native Instruments). A midi controller to adjust pitch and channel settings is probably advisable, but not a must.

If you can't afford the soundcard you can split one output into two (by rewiring a left/right splitter from maplins), but trust me its a pain in the arse and doesn't work well. You need two outputs - one for monitoring and one for the actual output.

already got a creative audigy 2 soundcard with 4 outputs so dont need to worry about that.
i'll have a look at getting a cheap midi controller on ebay, should be worth it.

U using pc or mac? I hear that Numark's Cue is meant to be pretty neat, although not sure when its due for release, and is for pc only at the moment.

Personally, I think Serato Scratch Live is the best, but it depends on your setup, i.e, if you've already got decks etc.

sorry for taking ages to reply, been thinking up my options
going to get at least one deck so i can play vinyl, might just get 2 decks and a mixer and forget about mixing via my computer for now
do u reckon its any easier to learn via decks as its more hands on or not?

btw any recommendations on what mixer/decks to get would be greatly appreciated (keeping costs to a minimum, wouldnt really want to spend much more than 100 quid on each)
is that hecules console a good option for using with mixing with a single deck and a computer?

a wiseman once told me of a program named disco. i think its like 35 USD. ive also heard of mixmeister but i havent used any of these. on the apple site theres a link to a freeware mixing program as well. man forgot the name of it though...i just use serato through the rane ttm57 or whatever the letters are.
