NEW ONLINE RECORD LABEL LOOKING FOR ARTIST

I’m looking for self motivated artists with talent to fill the ranks of my online record label. Possibly hard sales in the future. Cd’s/vinyl/ merch etc. I’m going to put my heart into this so I’m looking for truly dedicated ARTISTS!
Each artist should have
20 MASTERED tracks of 100% original material! (DUBSTEP, garage or grime)
2 - 60min mixes.
Contracts can be a 60/40 split. 60% to the artist. The contract will be open so you can sell your tunes other places.
I’ll help get you started.
Press packages/ demos/ and bookings.
For more details, send your demos to (
thestepa@yahoo.com)
I hope to hear from you soon, thanks

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Your correct it should be "Artists"
Yes, if I'm going to spend money to develop an ARTIST, we would have an exclusive contract. However my label will have to compete in the market, in order to do so the company will have a full range of agreements.
Please Email me for details.

Bump
This sounds good to me. I think the producers on the forum should jump on this opportunity.

so does the label have a name yet?
Are you offering a range of different agreements then? for example might the artists be able to sell the digital or hard products them selves either to shops or on the street as well as you selling them either yourself or through your distro?

I would like to name the label Stepa Records. I have a budget of 10,000 USD to get started. The start up cost will be about 2,000 USD. I want to make sure I spend my money wisely so right now my goal is to find talented artists. My main concern at the moment is opening a website without content. I want to hit the ground running. The focus of the website will be to sell digital downloads. As the label grows we will add products (hard sales & merchandise). The goal is to build a stable, sustainable label through teamwork. That said, here are the agreements that the label will offer.
Demo Recording Agreement
This Agreement is used to enter into a contractual agreement with an individual, to record a "demo recording" for that record label so that the label, after hearing the recording, can determine if it wants to sign the artist to a long term contract.
Digital Music Download Distribution Agreement
This Digital Music Download Distribution Agreement is used to contract artists that own their recordings to sell the music through the website by digital downloads to customers.
Digital Music Download Distribution Agreement (Master Use and Synchronization)
This Digital Music Download Distribution Agreement (Master Use and Synchronization) is used to contract artists that own the recordings and songs to license both the recording and music through the website to others to use in films, television, advertising or other media uses.
Artist Recording Contract (Percentage of Profits)
This Agreement, also referred to as an Artist Recording Contract, is used to enter into a contractual agreement with an individual for their exclusive services as a recording artist for that record label.
Artist Recording Contract (Traditional Royalty)
This Artist Recording Contract, also referred to as an Artist Recording Agreement, is used to enter into a contractual agreement with an individual, for their exclusive services as a recording artist for that record label.
The answer to you question as to weather an artist may sell their products on the street really doesn’t apply to the goals of the label at the moment. However if an artist has hard product for sale I will make every attempt to help them sell it on the site, leaving them to sell hard products where ever they want.
Investment in Record Company Project Agreement
This Investment In Record Company Project Agreement is used by an investor that wishes invest in a specific project being released by a record company.
Thank you, I hope I was able to answer your questions.

Hello Mr. Krease,
I tried to send you an email but I was blocked by your spam protection.
I'm unable to stream your demos. I live in Taiwan, the site doesn't offer service to Asia. Can you upload them somewhere else?
Thanks
Stepa

I don't wish to over-step my boundaries or anything, but here is some advice:
20 tracks is a bit much. You are best selling dubstep as singles and EPs, so like 3 songs or 7 songs or something. Albums are dying. I'm not saying I don't condone them, I've only made albums and enjoy them more than EPs and Singles, but really selling 5 or 6 tracks is an easier route to take. I think it's better to have 6 great tracks than 20 decent ones.
Secondly, I don't see the logic in 2 60-minute mixes. Producers and DJs are two different things. Granted a lot of producers ARE DJs (and vice-versa), producing dubstep doesn't necessarily mean one likes to mix. I just don't see why you need this seeing as you are selling songs, not promoting a DJ for gigs.
EDIT: Just noticed the initial post is like two years old, but just in case this guy checks back, I'll leave what I wrote... although he's probably already succeeded/failed. (Hopefully succeeded, but you never know.)

This looks pretty cool. I have been producing for about two years now and recently I have been taking it very serious. I have about 10 finished tracks and tons and tons of mixes from over the years. I usually try to do a promo mix every other month. Cheers for the offer. I will send you a message.
