Need help IDing tune

Post by rook » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:41 am

I didn't see any rules against asking for help IDing tunes, hopefully I didn't miss it.

Anyway, just returned from Symbiosis in Yosemite, saw Caspa, Mala, Amon Tobin, Bassnectar, and a whole slew of other badasses.

There was one tune in particular dropped by 'Sweet Anomaly' that was absolutely stellar.
I can't recall the lyrics unfortunately, but the build of the song consisted of the female MC/Singer, going "ah ah ah ah" with a gated stutter on it.
I think there may have also been a "HEY" every few measures.
As it builds the vocals slowly fade out and are replaced with a paddy synth, until finally it drops back into the girl's hiphop vocals again.

I realize it's still kinda vague, but I hope someone out there might be able to ID this, because it was pretty amazing.

EDIT: the tune I'm looking for is the first clip in this video:

u sure it was ragga?

It looks like Ed Solo - Age Of Dub from your description, but it is indeed kinda vague

It definitely had a ragga/hiphop/r&b vibe, but was way epic. Very energetic and fun.

Ed Solo's age of dub definitely fits the gated female vocal description (and I love that song to death) but unfortunately it's not what I'm looking for!
Thanks for the shot though!

Anyone else? :]

Hey, you probably mean the first first one...but as I couldn't hear any vocals on the first, it could be you meant this...
The 2nd track (before the video cut) is Moderat - Slow Match feat Paul St Hilaire
