I saw commercials for this last night during the new "It's always sunny..."
Can it possibly be good? I haven't watched family guy in a couple years, got mega burned out on it. But friends tell me the last couple seasons are pretty funny.
Thoughts on this?

Some of it's good... but most of it just seems... like whats the point

It was never gunna be good.
You cant make a spin off of family guy without basically parodying it.

Family Guy is barely hanging on itself IMO, some of it is brilliant, some is just beyond stupid. I can't see a spinoff ever working.. and why Cleveland of all characters? He's always been pretty dry. Definitely not one of the "stars".

Agreed, plus i have no idea where this family has come from.

Cleveland was one of the worst characters. hes worse than the cast of corner gas

would have been a much better choice, very obviously..
I haven't gotten around to watching this yet, I could likely live without it

last seasons of family guy are awesome w/ a spliff. I think macfarlane has been investing more energy in "american dad". season premiere for these two shows were funny, but meh. haven't checked out cleveland's show yet but I saw a trailer and some of the characters were pretty well-constructed (the bears for example)
