Thanks! It's a new site by the way... I'm going to be covering a lot of deep dance music on there, but it's going to have everything from ballet to comedy covered too... It's been a labour of love and all feedback is welcome, whether on the comments bit of the article or via email. And if yr on Twitter, follow @theartsdesk for updates on the articles going up there every day.

OK here we go, it's all up.

It's not a bad interview I reckon - short and simple (it's for an readership who might not even have heard of dubstep, mind), but not bad.
More long term, I want to declare independence from reality.
As I say, all comments and feedback very welcome.

liked this part of the interview. interesting to see Kode thinking in these terms as music to me has for a long time been about the visuals/thoughts/concepts it inspires (and vice versa). UR/Drexciya had this kind of sonic mythology thing but virtually noone's done anything like it recently.

Lot of techno folks I hung around with in late 90s were into the whole make your own reality thing...
BTW for those with older / broader musical tastes there are also Orbital and Dinosaur Jr reviews by me on that site. If you like any of it, comment on it and pass it on!

Bumpitty bump.
Don't forget, all comments welcome on the site. It shows us you're out there!
I'd just like to add also, for anyone who hasn't seen Kode 9 & Spaceape's live show lately, it is amazing. Where it used to be quite abstract and moody - the times I've seen them anyway - when I saw them 2 weeks back, it was completely lifted by the Funky elements in Kode 9's new beats and Spaceape really stepped up to the bar with his flow and his performance, getting right in among the crowd and giving it loads.

Thanks for the interview Joe. I feel like I need to pick his book up. Sounds really interesting. Also, the term hypersoul is fucking smacking that sound hyperdub pulls off.
